Castration thread on Flash Gordon

The new SciFi series Flash Gordon stars the hunky blonde Eric Johnson as Flash. Last week's eppie has him captured by an all-female tribe of man-haters and he is bound and prepared for "transformation." They don't actually say "castration" but the presence of "Dociles" among them and the general tenor of the dialog (including some nasty-looking knives) makes it clear that castration is the tool used to make the "Transformation." Apparently the women are served by a slave-class of "dociles" who are men who have been "transformed."
Unfortunately, Flash talks his way out of the predicament. Also unfortunately, the foolish writers don't even get him out of his clothes for the scene.
Let's hope the writers get more ingenious as the series goes on...

The Mel brooks film "history of the world part 1" has many eunuch and castration references. There is a funny scene where one of the girls does a seductive dance to figure out who "isn't" the eunuch in the harem. Sure enough, Gregory Hines' character, "raised the feathers". It's a corney movie, but i love it.

As far as Flash Gordon not getting out of his clothes, you might have to wait for the "FLESH Gordon" sequel to come out on this one. --And I'm sure that somebody somewhere is working on that one even as we speak this very moment. It may take a Dr. Evil twist at the last or something. I don't know.

I think the one thing that might save Flash Gordon is for him to remove his shirt all the time.
If you search around ebay I am sure you can find Flesh Gordon.

Actually I have seen it -- back in the 70's when it was new.

I saw it in the theatrical release -- yes, really -- it played in theaters. Back then it was released in an "Unrated" version, (Unrated because, at the time, it would probably have earned an "X")but I have seen it cleaned-up to an "R" at several video outlets in the ensuing years. It was quite funny and somewhat sexy too. Somebody even made a sequel, but that really stunk-up the place.
