I believe he had some discs replaced and had to have incisions on the front and back. Last that I heard the pain killers were "barely" working. I had some rectal surgery and I "think" its similar levels of ouch. So prayers! Always good.
Its also damn boring to be doped up and unable to get around much. So Private Message him with news of the Archive or whatever. I know he is tired and may not reply quickly but I think he would very much appreciate some "como"

What was actually done is they fused my lower 3 lumbar discs. I wanted to have the upper one replaced with the Prodisc artificial disc replacement, but my insurance company would only pay for fusion. They wouldn't even let me pay for the artificial disc. After fighting them for 6 months, I had to do something to relieve the pain, so the insurance company won. I am now on the mend. I've been on Norcos for 2 years so they are not a effective as they normally would be. I am also on 30mg. of Morphine twice a day. This gives me some relief, but I still have several hour during the day and night that I am in quite a bit of pain. Every day is a little better though. I imagine they could increase my pain meds, but if I can hang in there at this level, I think it will be better for me in the long run. I don't need to get addicted on top of everything else.
MRT has been a good internet friend to me and I thank him for this thread to inform you good people and I appreciate your support. I am really trying to not be a wimp and I think I'm doing pretty good for a guy that doesn't have the balls for it.
Thank you all, Steve

Balls? Schmalls... Its guts you got my friend. I was screaming my head off when I had my aft end surgery. Can't imagine surgery going in front AND back and fiddling with my spine. You hang in there!
So, what DVD movies are you watching? I have been downloading Old Time Radio Shows (God I'm old) and these helped me stay sane the last couple of times I was out of it.
http://www.archive.org/details/oldtimeradio FREE!!!!
Well worth checking out if you like radio Drama or Historical stuff.
SCI Fi fans MUST download a couple Dimension X or X-Minus 1 programs.
One of my favorites is X-Minus 1 "A pail full of air."
If your worried about Global Warming

this show will make you less upset...
