A Straight Man in A Sexless Marriage

This topic has been one that I've spent quite some time thinking about. I admit not being a "fan" of self castration to cure sex drive differences between a man and his wife.
The Story / Article says one thing that I think is worth exploring more and I have one thought that I think might at least create some debate.
Point one. The author "Gadzooks" mentioned that he has never admitted he takes chemical castration drugs to his wife. Why? Is he worried she might see how much her reluctance to work on a sex life with him has done?
Point two. I understand chronic pain as well as anyone. And I "think" I can put myself into a persons shoes that can't have conventional intercourse. If so? So what?! Why not do unconventional sex that does not hurt. Masturbation, Oral sex etc.
