Man found castrated, murdered in Queens apartment

Police searching for victim's daughter

WABC Eyewitness News

(Queens, NY - WABC, July 30, 2007) - A grisly discovery turned a quiet Queens home into a crime scene.

Police found a man dead and his genitals cut off. Now they are searching for the person who did it.

Police are also looking for the victim's daughter who rented the top floor of the apartment at 436 Beach 69th Street where the victim was found. Police are hoping to talk to her and hoping she can shed some light on this.

Eyewitness News spoke to another tenant in the home. She said that the young woman who police are looking for was very friendly and very pleasant. She can't imagine what to think about all of this.

"We don't even know who found the body and who called," said homeowner Felicia Khan. "All they told me was that there was a dead body upstairs."

"Right now, I am confused because this is like a surprise to me," said Felicia's husband.

Police identified the victim as 55-year-old Eric Goodridge and now investigators want to question his daughter, Bridget Harris.

Saturday night, Harris called 911 to report that a person was bleeding inside her apartment in the Rockaways. She left before officers arrived.

Police say someone bound, gagged and sexually mutilated Eric Goodridge cutting off his genitals.

Responding to a 911 call, officers found him unconscious on the third floor of this home Saturday afternoon. When EMS responded, they pronounced Goodridge dead.

Detectives are looking for Bridget Harris, the woman who lives in the apartment. They believe she is the one who called 911 to report a man bleeding, and then took off.

"This is very strange. Coming from her, you know, knowing she has been living here more than eight year now," said Felicia Khan. "I never had a problem with her."

Harris' landlord said she works for the transportation security administration at Kennedy airport.

Neighbors say they would never expect something like this to happen in their neighborhood.

"I am in shock, like every neighbor," said a neighbor. "We don't expect that around here."

The investigation is ongoing. Police were here through the night and Sunday morning. Detectives were canvassing this area and they took down the license plates of all the cars on this street.
