Some of you may remember me announcing about ten days ago that I had safely castrated myself by pulling knotted speaker wire tighter and tighter around my spermatic cords until I felt an intense pain in them. That pain lasted about 90 minutes and indicated later to me that I had succeeded in bloodlessly and safely castrating myself.

Well, did I?

This is the tenth day and my sex drive has not overcome me yet except for about the third day when I masturbated. I wrote a post here soon afterwards that indicated it thought I had failed.

But that was the last time I masturbated and I seem to have as much control over my sexuality as I wanted. That is new for me. (The Pheonix has risen from the ashes!) I used to masturbate three or four times a week whether I wanted to or not. I don't seem to be at risk of any sort of sepsis, that is blood poisoning. I feel great! Will it last? My sex drive seems to be subsiding and getting weaker. I don't feel threatened by it anymore.

WHAT I SENSE NOW: I am thinking a lot about this in the same way one might think about a stroke victim. A stroke victim can regain the use of an arm or leg even after part of his brain was deprived of oxygen. But he must USE or EXERCISE the body part in order to regain it. The longer he waits, the more difficult it is to regain the body part.

I honestly sense that I could regain the use of my testicles--that is, go back to my old ways--if I masturbated more frequently. Check this out: When I DO masturbate (that once, almost a second time), they don't hurt at all. When I decide NOT to masturbate, they ache mildly--immediately after the decision! I have always believed we should listen to our bodies. They speak a dumb language but they do speak to us. But the ache is extremely bearable. It is maybe half a point on a scale of one to ten. It's as if my body is saying, "Use it or loose it, Buster!"

In any event, I still have the option of repeating the procedure if my sex drive returns. How much abuse can the little buggers take? It's so hard to get information out there concerning my MO. I don't see how my MO won't work if repeated as often as necessary. I also don't see any danger in it. It can't possibly be more dangerous than a Burdizzo. It is certainly much easier.

As I have told others in such a situation. Get yourself an ultrasound so that you will KNOW what is going on. Too often "things happen" because we want or believe them to have happened. The human mind is an amazingly powerful and influential entity.

I have to agree with kristoff. Placebo is a powerful thing. Whatever your mind really wants to believe can be true.

I would still be surprised if you have done permanent damage, especially enough to make you a eunuch. I wouldn't be as surprised if it were temporary. But it can't be ruled out completely, so best of luck

I went 2 weeks without masturbating when I was 16 by willpower alone. If a 16 year-old can go 2 weeks without, then anything can be done. How is your morning wood (if you had any before)? Do you get spontaneous erections (if you got them before)? Does your prostate shut down over the coming weeks or months? How frequent and intense are your sexual thoughts (this one is highly susceptible to placebo)? Those are some of the ways you can tell if lasting damage was done.

I too tried a self castration with a wood working clamp. I was aware of the placebo effect so I have been waiting to see what would happen. Now that 2-months have passed, I am having hot flashes, and my prostate output is drastically reduced. Also, while I still have sexual thoughts and morning erections (not every morning) they go away very easily. My pubic hair and beard growth seem to have slowed also. I've only had sex with my wife once and masturbated (with her helping) as an experiment to check output. This is not like my past performances at all.

I'd guess that it worked.

Your balls are easily damaged. It is merely the choice of implements that seems to be the problem. For some reason a Burdizzo is not a good choice, but a good solid clamping with a blunt clamp or the complete shutting off of circulation with something stronger than a rubber band does appear to work.

Elastrator >= mega-painful, too. I made it through like 30mins on my test run with that thing and I was going out of my head from the pain; and then the soreness after I cut the band away lasted a long damn time.
