IMMORTAL CASTRATI by Paolo was the best Vampire story I ever read! It was flat out brilliant!

I was really intrigued by the relationship between the little Vampire castrato and the old priest. I thought it very interesting that the two had meet when the priest was a very young man and then that they should meet again so many years later when the priest was old but the Vampire still a little boy.

I also thought it was interesting that the old priest was unnerved by the fact that the human boy was a castrato and as such not entirly male or female. A man made freak!

A great story and I'm only sorry that it isn't receving a much wider audience. It's so much more then just a castration story. It should be read by everyone who likes vampires and horror.

Your work is very, very good.

I think that you should expand the short story into a novel and send it off to the same publisher that publishes Anne Rice novels. 300 - 500 pages would be nice.

I think that it would be accepted. :)

Well, thanks again, guys. I don't know that it's worthy for publication, though. I don't think I've got it in me to turn it into a full length book.

“Immortal Castrati” is certainly worthy of publication AS IT STANDS, as are a number of other incredible stories on the Archive. Kortpeel’s “Evenin’ Dearie” has to be one of the most perfectly written stories ever. Less than a single page, yet it would be impossible to change a comma without damaging it! Paolo, though, probably has the highest percentage of publishable pieces. “For Your Own Good” has to rank as one of the best stories written (by anyone, for any venue) in the past five years. I keep waiting to see some of the Archive’s best on paper, rather than the screen.
