The skin texture on the palms of my hands and fingers has become very dry since taking Spironolactone. I also take Estradial Valerate and Finasteride.

Is this to be expected as part of the feminization process, or is it a side effect of the Spinolactone?

Sebaceous gland activity (which is triggered by androgens) lessens which lowers the amount of sebum (oil) production on the skin and scalp, consequently the skin becomes less prone to the formation of acne due to the less quantity of oil that is produced. Dry skin becomes a problem and lotions and oils may be necessary.

Also could be a side-effect of the Spironolactolone because of it's diuretic effects, I believe.

I've been on my regime for about a year now and yes, the hands do get drier and thinner [Yay] Using some lotion which has aloevera and vitamin E will come very handy. I tend to enjoy some cocoa butter all over my skin every now and then. I do not recommend baby oil since I've read around the net that it might be a bit .. toxic? Err.. you would have to look that up to be sure.

Diuretics like Spironolactone can also cause an increase in blood sugar. A high blood sugar level can cause very dry chapped skin. Get your glucose checked just in case.
