All these years and I never heard of "dehydrated alcohol". You would think if it was dehydrated there would be nothing left. Anyway, look it up on the internet. It's main purpose is to counter act the poisoning effect of other chemicals. But my Doctor is using it to kill nerves in my foot. HUMMM? Wonder if this would kill nerves in my scrotum. My balls are "dead" (no pain if you squeeze them) after many years of use and abuse, (long story) but outside of the balls, and inside of the scrotum, there are numerous contents that are not numb, and if squeezed wrongly, they hurt....don't like that....my goal is total numbness, one way or the other (still would prefer surgical castration but chemical might be acceptable). Wonder if dehydrated alcohol injections would kill those nerves. Not that I could ever get my hands on such chemicals to inject myself, but I just wonder. ??? Anybody out there know about using deyhdrated alcohol to kill testicle/penis nerves ???

Ethanol (normal "drinking alcohol") is impossible to distil so that all the water is removed. It is hygroscopic - attracts water. It needs special treatment (I seem to remember distilling over potassium metal) to remove the final traces.

Ethanol is used to block the metabolism of methyl alcohol/wood alcohol which causes blindness, death and other undesirable effects.

So if you were injected with this dehydrated alcohol, then there would be some effect presumably because of the strength of the chemical.

Do not confuse dehydrated with denatured. Denatured alcohol is the old methylated spirits, or alternatively surgical spirit possibly.

Ethanol is quite toxic. Ironically, it's less toxic to humans than to most organisms, which is why it's useful for sterilizing biotech equipment, and (in the past) medical tools. That's also why we can drink it ... although it's actually more dangerous on a dose-for-dose basis than any street drug other than heroin and crystal meth.

My guess, based on my rather limited medical knowledge, is that injecting alcohol into your scrotum will probably kill the tissues, but you run a SERIOUS risk of suffering from alcohol poisoning. You're better off diluting it with water first and using small amount repeatedly, rather than using one big dose of concentrated ethanol.

But make sure it really is anhydrous ethanol; denatured alcohol will make you very dead. You're practically better off just using everclear or high proof Rum, because they're easy to get and guaranteed to have no serious poisons in them other than ethanol itself. Anhydrous ethanol is next to impossible to purchase in the USA or any other western country; the government forces chemical supply companies to put contaminants their ethanol to ensure than no one drinks it (or takes it internally in any "other" way ).

For those who are interested, it can be produced by distilling a normal water-alcohol mixture up to 96% (the upper limit), then adding cyclohexane, then distilling that mixture. Adding cyclohexane disrupts the chemical attraction that keeps that 4% water in the distillate. I forget how you get the cyclohexane out, but you only need a little bit and cyclohexane isn't particularly toxic, at least compared to benzene, which is how it used to be done.

Or you can just produce pure ethanol directly from graphite and sulfuric acid, but that usually requires that you have an organic chemistry laboratory at your disposal... and if you had access to a lab, you'd be able to find MUCH more interesting ways of killing your testicles.

I think that has a lot to do with how you slice the pie. I know many people who can control their drinking, but I haven't met any one yet who can control their meth habit. Meth is is easily as destructive to the brain and nervous system as alcohol. OTOH if you include the number of people killed by drunk drivers... well then you may have a point.

We're not having another alcohol injection thread running.

That is one subject we don't discuss.
