We ask and expect everything from our sailors and soldiers. Everything. I can do nothing but honor them in my heart of hearts.

I thank you on behalf of my (late) son and all of us who have been in mortal peril at the service of our country. --FLO--

My thanks to all who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Thanks to all who have served and sacrificed in other ways. I have so much respect for the brave men and women serving our country because they are doing something for me that I do not know if I would have the courage or abilities to do for them.

Last night on 60 Minutes they spend the entire hour on the harrowing lives of the Iowa National Guard unit in An Bar Province, the most dangerous place to be in Iraq...Not that anyplace outside of Kurdish is even close to safe.

These brave men and women serve their nation everyday despite the fear, lonliness and often hopelessness. Guard members say they see their job not as nation rebuilding, hunting terrorists or restoring order...their job is to maintain cohesion in their unit and survive to come home soon. God bless every mother son of them all.

We are ALL indebted to those who served and those who died to keep America free.

May we keep their sacrifices in mind every day of the year!

Yesterday, I lit a candle once again in the memory of my cousin and friend.

This year I added one for the son of a good friend and member here.

my store manager, who is ex military made a great comment yesterday in a meeting.. he said "That all the people that wont stand behind our troops, should stand infront of them instead." i thought that was a good way to look at it. Thanks to all the men and women that risk their necks for this country. Hopefully I'll be able to do mine once i get thru getting my college credits and can finally stand proud not behind the military but as a Marine
