Finally getting around to posting!

Hello to all!

I have finally gotten around to posting a introduction on here. My real name is Christine (Christie for short) and I am Tg'd. I was, basically speaking a hermaphrodite at birth, with the exception of a vagina. All my other physical make up is female. So, I have gone through a lot of B.S. with this. I have had the suicidal attempts, and luckly didn't succeed. I have had hard times and good times.The struggles of where to turn for help and advise. I've been in the position of trying to figure out what to do if such and such doesn't work, of having insurance to help out with the costs involved with therapy, drugs and medical proccedures, of having money and not having the money.

I'll stop rambling on, this isn't a place to write a book. I have been fultime now since 1993, started therapy in 1986. I was fortunate enough not to have a need for hair removal (body&facial- never had a beard) or any surgical procedures, with the exception of trimming back "adams apple" a bit. Had a consultation with the clinic in Trinadad,Colo. in1999 and found out that I can't be a canidate for SRS due to the fact that I developed heart problems, (a sign of aging I guess).

To shorten this up, I stubbled onto this site and have been here for a short while and figured that I maybe of help and support for others. I just want to say if anyone is in a situation don't get discouraged, things always have a way of working out. So, I am free to have ideas bounched off of or if anyone just needs some outsider to listen. Thanks for listening to me!

Welcome to E.A. or "the zoo" as it has come to be known. I know exactly where you're coming from being transgendered myself and just a few months older than you though you have come much further down this road of transition than me.

God only knows, it's a very tough thing to be in our position as society just has not been able to fully embrace people like us yet...and maybe never will.

I've had a little tougher road to travel as I was born a full genetic male so I do have the added pain and expense to getting rid of my beard and such things, but to be honest, since I've clawed my way out of the closet that was my life for so many years, I have never, never been happier. It's such a wonderful feeling to finally be the person you really are.

I am in good shape physically and I'm planning on having the SRS sometime next year. I should be getting the needed letter from my therapist in the next few months. I'm not full time yet being that I still have to don the "male mode" for business during the week, but even that is becoming more difficult as the hormones work their magic.

I have been living as myself full time on the weekends for almost 8 months now. I will be having my name formally and legally changed the end of this month and plan on assuming a full time role sometime later this year.

It's always a thrill to meet someone that you have so much in common with, so once again, welcome. You will find many wonderful accepting people here.

I used to say welcome to the zoo to but not anymore i see this place as a carring place that people can come to and get answers and surport for problems they thought only they had.I am happy you have learned and taken care of your life as good as you have i am sorry you had to even go through one day of this.Fortunialy we do have places like this we can come to and welcome aboard Christie.
