Chronic testicular pain is not well understood and most treatments are pretty iffy. One that has a high percentage of eliminating the pain is Bilateral Ochiectomy (Surgical Castration) If you have Orchialgia and want to check out a new forum set up to talk about this and its cure or treatment, point your browser to
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Orchialgia
This opened up last night so.... There is nothing up yet.

Yeah, I've been through 9 doctors for this crap for several years, and have never even mentioned it to #10. Frankly, if you can find a Dr. who even believes in the existence of non-traumatic injury testicle pain (i.e., they only hurt when you bump them too hard), you've done something I've never been able to do.

CTP (Chronic Testicular Pain) was my problem. Luckily I found a urologist who , after going through several months of testing, agreed that my pain would only be relieved by removing my testicles. Will be two years ago in June.

I have received an education in CTP as I read these articles. Sometime after I turned thirty, I would occasionally have pain in my testicle(s), they appeared slightly swollen, tender, and I could barely walk. I usually put a heating pad on my groin area and after 1-2 hours it went away.
I finally asked my doctor about the symptoms and he said that I had something similar to appendicitis of the testicles, which can be life threatening. When I got on the Internet, I found out how dangerous the true appendicitis of the testicles could be. Thank goodness, I didn't have that disease, but I had something similar to it because my incidents happened only 2 or 3 times a year and for several years didn't occur at all. I believe I last had on such incident about 2 years ago.
Of course, I was embarrassed to discuss this with my physician, so it took me about three years to mention it to him! Now, I don't worry about such things. I'd rather have a doctor examine me for a "male issue" and find out what's actually wrong rather than guessing. See your doctor is a good saying!!!
Thank you for writing about this men's health issue.

When you go to the library section of the yahoo group there is a misc medical text word document. My MD understands the problem and has helped me go through all the simple solutions. She has done a referal to a urologist who was not "100%" on it but I sat down with him and we went over those texts and what I thought was my next step. He is not "speeding" to the solution I think is my best hope to be pain free but he has agreed that its a viable option. He admitted to me that the number of "crazy" patients who come in demanding a quick castration is one reason he is not too keen on this. Some he says are transexuals who simply don't want to go through the correct process others he thinks are just insane. The other problem is that in general doing this has resulted in more law suits then any other procedure.
If your willing to fly or drive to California I've spoken by email to Dr Alter and he has sympathy for people with this problem and I think if you can provide documentation that your not "insane" and have a referal from your MD I think he will be willing and very able to help you.

Well, yeah, but they hurt even when they're NOT bumped.
Try and make a Dr. understand that.

I guess that leaves fondling and masturbation at the side of the road.... (no, not in the back seat of the car...)

Guess I was just lucky to get a doctor that understood!
But he did give me a bit of a blank stare when I said Id rather live without my testicals than go through life with this sort of pain all the time.
I think its a chronic male misconception that the last thing you want to do to a man ( Or the worst thing you could do ) is remove his testicals.
Its not untill you go through somthing like this that you make a mental adjustment and start thinking that with pain like this it realy make living hard and thats the angle I used to my doctor to make him understand that its not about the way i view my body but the way it feels and it feels like crap.
The doctor wanted to go through all the ways he could fix this problem without removal but in the end had to verbaly admit that the solution was not a quick fix and that success with the other alternatives was probrally not going to work.
Still reluctant to do the operation was present and the feeling that he was not doing the right thing was present in his tone of voice although he could not offer a better solution.
Now almost 2 months later and I have to say life is good Ive started to ride my bike to work and have been able to shoot some hoops with my children for the first time in soooooo long and that in its self is good medicine.
I sypathise when anyone suffering from this terible confliction I hope you find light at the end of your tunnel.

That was very well said. I think that male doctors tend to think this is a crime against everything holy or whatever. I didn't find the concept that appealing at first either but... Near constant pain and add to that atrophy to the pre pube levels (Size wise) and what do I have? *I'm also sterile. Not much...
My MD didn't have any issues refering me to a doctor with the idea that surgical removal woud be an option (But she is a she) and I think women don't view our "jewels" the same way as other men. Hell I have a relative who had cancer and they told him he could live quite a bit longer if he would consent to a bilateral or take antiandrogens and he said "no, I would rather die!" THAT I do NOT get.
I reasoned that talking to a Urologist about Orchiectomy is like talking to an Eye doctor about putting in a glass eye.
