Hypersexuality

I really thought that I had everything under control with my hypersexuality up until a couple of weeks ago. A couple of weeks ago I had a bad bout with my hypersexuality again. I'm bipolar and when I get manic my hypersexuality can get way out of hand.

I've been on Lexapro for my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and it's been working wonders. My sex drive went from overdrive to almost no drive. Lexapro is what's called a SSRI and SSRI's are known for killing your libido and that's pretty much what it's done for me most of the time.

I'm seeing may psychiatrist (pdoc) Monday morning and I'm going to be discussing this with her. I think I'll ask my pdoc for something like androcur to control my hypersexuality. Unfortunately Androcur is not availible here in the gold ol USA. Anyone got any suggestions on what to ask for?

Thanks!

There are many drugs that can be taken to reduce testosterone. The doctor will know which one will be best for you. Being under a doctors care is very important so your body can be monitored. Your doctor my just need to adjust your dose of lexpro and or change to a different drug. Often when you start out you may need to have the doctor experiment with you some for the right mix of drugs. Also many drugs take time to fully take effect.

I would say that most of the eunuch that I know have or are on an anti-depressant drug. Guess that also goes for a good many of the other people I know. With depression you will have ups and downs. From what I know Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is often controlled and related closely with depression.

It is possible to order androcur in the states. No prescription needed. I ordered it from the UK. Order Cyproterone Acetate. That is the same drug as androcur. I had great luck with this company. http://www.mastersmarketing.com/price_c2.htm Very many from this site orders from them. I would order the 168 50mg package. Best price.

Wish you luck in finding the relief you seek.

I went & saw my psychiatrist (pdoc) the other day. My pdoc upped my dosage of Lexapro 50% to 30mg a day, which is a very high dose. Upping the dose really knocked my dick in the dirt so to say. I haven’t had a hard on since upping my dose. My libido now is more under control, at least for the time being, then it was when I was self medicating with Depo-Provera!

I did discuss with my pdoc the possibilities of an anti-androgen. Actually she brought it up. She said that it was a possibility but didn't want to go there unless we absolutely had too. She said she didn't have much experience with anti-androgens and she would have to refer me a specialist that deals with sex offenders to pursue that avenue. She also told me that anti-androgens can really change your chemical makeup and that can be dangerous.

I noticed tonight that the soft porn on Sin-To-The-Max tonight really didn’t even grab my attention and I had no real urge to watch it. That in itself is a major accomplishment. I promised my wife that in the morning after we get all of the kids off to school that I would take a double shot of Viagra and make her happy. I doubt that I’ll be able to get off but as long as I keep her happy that’s all I really care about.

If you want to check out which psyc meds kill libido & which ones will even stop production of testosterone (chemical castration) check out www.crazymeds.org (http://www.crazymeds.org). It’s a great site!

I feel for you. I am diagnosed with bipolar too and by the far the biggest problem that I have is extreme fluctations in sex drive. Sometimes it is quite low as in reaching climax once a week and sometimes it goes so high that my sex drive will not shut down for several days irregards of how many times I climax in one day. I tried depo provera once and it does very effectively kill ones sex drive. For me it made it very difficult to orgasm. I still haven't really figured out what to do about the problem. I don't take medication at this point in time. I just deal with the problem when it happens--about 4 times a year. My other half tries to be understanding, but it is very hard for the both of us when it goes to the extreme. His sex drive is normally MUCH lower than mine. Sometimes I have wondered about taking 75mg/month to see if that would bring my sex drive more in line with his, but then again maybe it isn't that big of deal.

I wish I had a better answer for you.
