Banding! How long should it take?

I have been using an elastrator on and off for some months now. I can never manage to suffer the pain for more than 45 minutes to date. The pain is just too much. Has anyone actually, successfully used this method to acheive castration? and if so, as a general rule, how long does band need to stay in place? I have thought of drinking myself into oblivion whilst banded nd hopefully sleep through the threshold point of castartion. Any advice would be apprecited.
Thanks,
want_calm

Welcome to the EA. I understand the calm you are hoping to find. Banding is not very safe and there are members more experienced with banding than I. It is always a good idea to try chemical castration to make sure this is what you truly want. After a trial as a chemical eunuch you can decide if this is the way you want to live your life. Physical castration is permanent and there is no going back. You are young and at your peak sexually. You may not always have the drive you have now. You may find calm as you age.
If you are comfortable please let us know why you are considering castration. The more we know of your reasoning the better advice we can give.

want_calm,
Unless you are also suicidal, I would suggest that you use your elastrator for play, rather than for any serious castration attempt. Better yet, either frame it and put it on your wall or hide it in a drawer someplace.
Human anatomy is somewhat different from that of the sheep on which the elastrator works most effectively. Ive used one on sheep. I know it works well there, though we occasionally lose a sheep to infection even after giving a massive shot of antibiotics before putting on the band. Think of the band as cutting off blood circulation (though not the nerves, until they die hours later). The scrotum then rots until it falls off. There is a chance of either a blood clot that could kill you or gangrene setting in above the band.
Since you havent really told us what your goals are, its very difficult to give advice. Though, at your age, at least a six-month course (better a year) with chemical castration ought to be the minimum before you contemplate anything permanent.
Tell us more about yourself and check the boards here for more information. The search feature works well.
J.

As Jesus states about banding - don't try it...but for play.
Even then, it hurts like hell. I know, I did it before.
It won't work on a human. Personally, I don't know anyone who succeeded without going to the ER, or having to have some kind of medical intervention. I'm NOT saying no one has done it before and succeeded. It is POSSIBLE - even though not PROBABLE.
Think of it this way - if you don't want the rotting goodies hanging there for weeks until they fall off - running the risk of bloodstream infection - you'd have to cut them off. If the band slips, you bleed...bigtime bleeding. That's where the ER part comes in. That I do know from 2 persons that I chat with, who tried it and it failed them.
I've also had an infection get into the bloodstream - Talula & Gem probably remembers that when I had a sinus infection that got away from me and damn near killed me.
Please don't do this - unless you're within spitting distance of the ER front door and you don't mind a psyche ward stay and a huge ER bill.

There are tons of info in the archives, type "elastrator" in the search section, read and learn. If you continue to play around with an elastrator you will eventually injure the cords causing horrific swelling/possible hematoma. Take the advice that you have been offered. My suggestion, call Dr. Kimmel in Philly or Dr. Alter in California. Sometimes you can convince a local urologist to castrate you as a preventitive to cancer. Say your brother had testicular cancer, but don't use an elastrator. One guy successfully used an elastrator by taking Valium and a powerful prescription pain killer, but he still ended up in the emergency room, faced a lot of humiliation and embarrassment, spent a few days in the pysch ward. The financial cost far exceeded what Dr. Kimmel or Dr. Alter charged and the insurance would not cover it. If you truly want to become a eunuch listen to us, we've been through it and know what we're talking about. Hash

I love banding too, but I wouldn't castrate myself that way.
