Penile shrinkage?

For one of the academic papers on the eunuch community that has now been submitted for review for publication, one of the reviewers has made a rather snarky comment that penile shrinkage after castration is not real, but only folk belief. The only academic article that I have found to date that mentions it is by C.S.Higano (Side effects of androgen deprivation therapy: Monitoring and minimizing toxicity. Urology, 61 (2003), 32-38). When contacted about her research, she said that it was only anecdotal from talking with her prostate cancer patients who had been chemically castrated.

I would like to have some REAL data to counter the comment (and to give some real information here on the Archive).

Are there any members here who have measured their penis before and after either chemical or surgical castration? If so, what was the length before and after? And, how much time elapsed between measures? Information showing no change is just as valuable as that with change. Also needed is what sort of hormone replacement therapy (if any) you have used.

Please either post your answers below or send me a Private Message. I will tally the results and let you all know.

I went from an erect length of 5.5 inches while intact to a little under 4 inches while erect post castration. Penile shrinkage it does exist.

Thank you, Tugon. I appreciate your willingness to provide information.

I am surprised, however, that there have been over 400 hits on this thread and you are the only one willing to share information.

I'm not castrated, but when I was 16 my penis was 6 1/8 inches. Now at age 65 it is 5 3/4 inches. Could this be due to testosterone loss with aging?

I measure mine this morning from the rear bottom to the tip, and I measured 2.5 Inches. I suspect that it is the HERBS I am taking regularly every day - morning and afternoon, and if it gets errect ?? I havn't seen that in a long time, so I am not sure I remember THAT ..I cant recall what it was.

In my world - there are NO SECRETS so I don't mind sharing what I learn, what I know, what I see, and what I measure etc at all. Regards You limpy Dicks. I am one too.

I am not castrated, but I wanted to comment n3rf msg about penis leght loss with age. Yes it could be testosterone loss that causes penis shortening. But as you compare your current measurement with age 16 measurement you should consider your body changes over time. First more muscles and then more fat. I have noticed that I've lost some of my penis lenght because it has sunk into my body partially due to increased body fat.

Interesting. I have been 180 lbs and when I went to sea during the '90's I went up to 220. Now I am working my way down and reached 198 lbs , so I am slowly getting back - I think. So for a 6 ft 2 inch tall me, I guess the body fat could do it ?? .. Hi. I took Hodia for several months that cut down my "appetite". I stopped using these Herb

tablets, but I still have "low appetite" so I think I will reach the 180 lbs by the summer ..Hi I doupt my little Thingi will grow back ..High-Hopes.N3RF

Let's see - I've lost 3/8 of an inch in 50 years. I suppose it could be due to all the wear and tear of daily use....:D :dong:

there is evidence that all penis's shrink with age mainly due to lack of blood pressure and fitness of the tissue ets also there is normally an increased fat content on the muscle above and around the lower abdomen whcih in effect 'draws ' or hides some of the penis length.

the main advantage of removal of testicles is that it is almost unheard of for male pattern baldness to take effct if done early in the males life.
