Hi everyone ,2 weeks ago I started to see a Psychologist for sex addiction.I have a few problems with my sex drive and I dont want it to hurt my wife and family and of course me.I have cheated on my wife several times and masturebate 2-4 times a day since I was 16 and im 35 now.My sexual fantacys get a little carryed away and dont want to get in trouble with the law some day.I have tryed to stop my thoughts and masturbation and fantasys but its like trying to quit smoking very tough.I have told my Psychologist that I thought that chemical castration would be nice becouse mybe it would help me get my thoughts strait or maybe not .I also told her that what if I sleep with the wrong woman get aids or somthing due to a stupid sex drive and kill my family over somthing stupid I really do love my wife allot. And what if I act out on my fantacys and get into trouble with the law..well as of yesterday my Psychologist said she was going to talk to a urologist and a psycyatrist and see if I could get on chemical castration.I dont want my sex drive gone for goo just want to subcide it for a while and see if I can figure out why I have this problem with sex.

Hi Dave,
Do you have any update on your situation ?
How did the counseling with your terrapist turn out ?
Did you get a prescription ?
Would love to hear more.

Sounds to me like you need Depo-Provera!

Hi!
I am a sex-addict like you. I used to masturbate several times everyday and I risked my own and my wifes health by continuously cheating and meeting prostitutes. My fantasies also went out of hand.
Chemical castration has done wonders for me. I have tried several variants of castration, like Androcur and now lastly Decapeptyl (Triptorelin) which was the most effective way. If you don't live in Sweden like me, but rather in the US you maybe won't have access to Triptorelin so then maybe Depo-provera could be a choice.
I have periods without any medication when I allow my libido to get back again, and nowadays my libido is much saner, and my relation with my wife so much better.
But when the summer comes and the problems come back I always have the chemical castration to fall back on.
I must say I have had a lot of help from SLAA too (Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous) which you could also try (
www.slaafws.org).
They don't advocate chemical castration, but for me I needed that aswell.
I reached my bottom in 2003 and started my recovery then.
Since then I have had only one major relapse and my life is so wonderful much better now.
Good luck to you, you are embarking on a wonderful journey recovering from your sex addiction!
If you have more questions feel free to contact me and I can share more of my history and my experiences in recovery with you.

I don't know if you can buy it on internet or otherwise. If you try you should search for medicine based on Triptorelin, which is usually used in severe forms of prostate cancer.
The effect is fully reversible in most cases, I had my last 3 months injection last june, the main effect went off in september, but then it has taken some months to get back to normal levels, which I did in late december I think (I haven't tested my bloodlevels for this).
My sexual medicine doctor (how treats my sex addiction) does all the tests on me.
The side effects of Decapeptyl were for me none, which is absolutoly amazing!
It is known to have much less side effects compared to Androcur (which affects liver and gives hot flushes etc).
Decapeptyl removes testosterone more effectively than any other medication and gives less side effect than most other medications aswell.
What can happens (did not to me) is lactating breast, and other symptoms that also follows after physical castration (bone problems, strength, energy etc).
For me I was just like normal, but without my libido.
Maybe I was a little less aggressive and had more patients with my kids.
A nice bonus.
I long to get back there soon (and I will in this spring).

Good luck and keep us posted. I gave up on psychologists and psychiatrists long ago, as all they did was take my money.

Paxil seems to be hit and miss, but It has had a huge effect on my addiction problems and the drive/obsession cycle. My wife insisted i see a therapist and she (the doc) prescribed a heavy dose of paxil. This ended my ability to orgasm within 2 days and a gradual decline of drive and erectile ability over the last 14 months. It is not easy seeing my wife enjoying a great sex life with her boyfriend and the feeling of missing out, but the drive is way down. I still try to masterbate now and then, but lose interest and concentration after a bit. Often I lose my erection and just stop. Its the best I can make of things for the moment.

I have just been reading your last post and IMO this will make you more Frustrated. As I see it, when you masturbate, you masturbate to cum and if you can't, then that will make you frustrated.
Also this drug is very addictive from what i have heard.
Being an antidepressant also, it has a lot of side effects and IMO there are other drugs out there that give the desired affects but without so many drawbacks.
Just my opinion
