I was castrated by Dr. Kimmel a little over two months ago. Before my castration I was experiencing hair loss and taking propecia for it. My question is, now that I am castrated should I still bother to take the propecia? A few more questions I have are:

Is two months long enough for my body to have rid itself of the testosterone that propecia would prevent from becoming DHT?

Should I still take propecia to combat the testosterone produced by my adrenal glands?

How long did it take you to experience the full physical effects of your castration (in this case specifically, how long was it before you noticed your hair loss had stopped or slowed down?)

Any other stories or advice you have on your own personal experiences with hair loss and becoming a eunuch would be much appreciated.

i myself am very happy that castration is preventing any further hair loss.

However my body post op still feels manly, its been a month for me.

?Your question on the depletion of testosterone and DHT is a good one, i would like to find an answer as well.

You may or may not still need the Propecia. What little testosterone is made in your adrenals can still convert to DHT, which is what causes hair loss. I still take Proscar now, well over a year past my surgery (I never had hair loss, but wanted to make sure I didn't get any, either.) I would stay on it for another year, quit taking it, and see how you do. No more hair loss? No need to take it. Hair starts falling out? You'll have to take it for life.
