I'd have thought that these questions should have been asked, and answered BEFORE setting the date!

Re: what should i expect post surgery?
Hompty,
Welcome to the Archive. Since this is your first post, it is impossible to know how long you have been lurking or how much of the information on the Archive you have read.
While youve made it clear that youre very anxious to be castrated as soon as possible, you give us no clue as to the reasons behind that desire. If you check around the Archive, you will find that the members here have described as wide variety of reasons many of them valid ones that lead to a higher quality of life after their castrations. Some of them, though, are ephemeral desires that can lead to permanent unhappiness, and even to suicide in some instances. You need to adequately explore your reasons and test them against others before taking any irreversible action.
You need to do your homework!
A first step would be to carefully read all of the Frequently Asked Questions (http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/faq.php?) that have been carefully answered over the years of the Archives existence. If the link doesnt work, they are accessible from the top of the front page of the Message Board.
Next, would be to read some of the brief accounts by eunuchs, some happy with their decision, some not, that are on the thread Consequences of Castration (http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=4616).
You should then post your reasons for seeking castration in order to begin a conversation with some of the others who are here. You will find those with similar reasons who can help you to explore the consequences of your action.
If your ultimate decision is to go forward with the surgery, you will need understanding people who can help you with the questions that will develop.
Spend some time getting to know people here FIRST. In the long run, you will be happy that you did.

I would definitely echo that which Jesus wrote above. I see from your profile that you describe yourself as transgender. Have you been using any transitional hormones? Been following any of the usual protocols for transgender? Also you list your location as Bremerton... USA? If yes, there should be some excellent resources available in WA for TS folks - just do some googling around. We are most happy to answer your questions where we can, but we would hope that you do your homework too - we have an excellent search function here - please use it.

Re: what should i expect post surgery?
See the above two posts.
In my case, I was castrated in an outpatient setting in the office of a licensed practitioner. My hotel was a block from the office, but there was no way I was walking back partially due to a minor complication I had afterward. Pain after was minimal, although moving around a lot did get uncomfortable. Recovery took about a week, but I was back on my feet sooner than I should have been. That may or may not have contributed to the infection I developed.
My age may make things easier for me than for an older person.
What happens in your case will depend on who you choose for your surgery and what type of setting it is in.
To avoid chances of serious complications, choose a licensed practitioner. Follow any and all instructions your doctor gives you to the letter. If complications do develop, seek advice asap.

Re: what should i expect post surgery?
There is a lot of reasoniing behind this decision. i have stated that i am transgendered, yes in many ways i am a tranny. i dont see myself as a male or a female. I dislike having two rockz tied to my pubic bone, i want free of this burden i carry between my thyz.
I have indeed done alot of lookin around and info seeking. i am hungry for conversation, and would like a little bit of detail in the recovery, due to the fact that i havnt found as much as i feel i could know.
many of you have made statements about your surgerys, and i thought maybe yall would have some advice for a healthy recovery.

Male-to-Eunuch gender identity is not nearly so rare as you might think. There are many on the Archive (and many more who have been on the Archive in the past but seldom visit now that they have achieved their goal).
For anyone who is MtE, I would have the same advice AT LEAST six months of chemical castration before trying the surgical. You need to be certain that you are ready for the physical and psychological changes that will inevitably come. If you like the new you, you can always make it permanent with surgery. If you do not, it's reversible by simply stopping the drugs.
While you seem to be on the right path, there is no harm in making certain before taking action.
Read the threads on chemical castration and the availability of the drugs. Try it to see if you like it.

Re: what should i expect post surgery?
I cant stomach chemicals being ingested into my body, at all. That is the reason why I have refused to take any hormones thus far.
The truth is that I am here to say I have made the decision, I am to have my testis removed and I want yawls support and advice. Believe me I have done my time read postings and threads and took every word for what it was.
Before finding the Eunuch archive I had already made up my mind to go ahead with the surgery. However this site did give me the time and information I needed to rethink and evaluate my reasoning for the need of my modification.
I realize that the castration, or elective bilateral orchiectomy is what I have wanted for as long as I can remember, maybe all this time I was simply looking for the words or expressions to understand it all, and to voice this to others. Maybe when I am truly free of my birth given burden I will truly be happy. I cant say for sure, but I have made this decision as a stepping stone to my own future. And I hope yawl can understand that.
This site is truly awesome.
