Many of you have been to Kimmel. I am planing on making an initial visit to his office this week to discuss things with him, and thought I should ask you about your experiences, so I will not sound l ike an idiot when I talk with him:
1. Does he allow any one to stay with you while the procedure is being done?
2. How long does the procedure take?
3. Have any of you had your scrotum removed at the same time ? Did that delay healing?
thanks guys

2. How long does the procedure take?
20-25 minutes per testicle, once your up on the table. He will talk to you longer than it takes to castrate you.

I did not have my scrotum removed and if you do have it removed it will take a lot longer.
When you get back from your visit, please tell us what you think of Kimmels new office and about your visit. Hash

1. In my experience, No. In the actual room anyway. As far as I heard, he only allows people in the waiting room. When my partner set up an appt for castration, I was denied the opportunity to be in the room with him even though I had been in that same room already.
2. It took me about 45 minutes. I had minor complications afterward and had to stay there for 2 hours healing. There is also the pre surgery talk which takes about an hour, but this may be waived if you are going to visit him beforehand.
3. I did not have my scrotum removed, but others have and I am sure they can share their experiences with you.

1. No
2. usually 45 minutes longer if you have adhesions like I did
3. I did have my scrotum removed at the same time and healing took about a month total . so I would say no it didn't take much longer.

Maybe it depends. Kimmel told me my wife could be present. She declined. Hash

Glad to hear you're taking this step. Seems like you've been putting it off too long. Hope your trip to Dr. Kimmel helps you decide what to do.
The brotherhood (and sisters) will welcome you with open arms,
