Guidelines for the chatroom.

Post by BossTamsin (imported) »

Ok. Personally, I hate chatrooms where there's a ton of rules, and you get jumped on for everything. But there is a need for at least a few ground rules in a chatroom.

I've only been able to come up with three that I consider vital, and would like to see what everyone else thinks of them.

1) Personal attacks & flaming gets you tossed.

2) Encouraging people to cut themselves gets you tossed.

3) Talking about cutting minors gets you tossed.

I would like comments and suggestions on what everyone else thinks of them, and if they seem fair to you.

IEunuch.

(A little upset at a few people who were talking about cutting an 11yo...)

I was quite shocked tonight in the chat to find that one of the topics was a woman chatiing in there openly admitting to chemically castrating males while they slept all at the request of ex partners i know that i wasnt the only person in there that didnt think it was appropriate talk.

Is there going to be a moderator system set up in there atall as i feel that it may be nesessary as the forum is becomg quite popular to chat in and needs someone to enforce some of the guidelines set out

Sorry to rant

Keep in mind that a great deal of "names" in the chat, especially the ones you don't recognize, are probably there for the fantasy only, or trying to stir things up. There's actually no way to keep a moderator in there to police the place at all times, and different people are going to have different ideas of what is appropriate to chat about. I'm not sure if there is an IGNORE button, I think there is, so I'd suggest using it if need be if there's not a moderator in there. That was the main problem with the old chat : no control. Thanks for the input, though.

I Agree

2) Encouraging people to cut themselves gets you tossed.

No this has to be wieghted in context.

How do you tell from fantasy?

I think that predatory behavior should get you tossed though.

Well, I thought the scheduled chat last sunday went well enough. (I won't be there 13 or 20 January due to arrangments regarding having my scrotum removed. Should be back 27 Jabnuary,) But yes, SOME non-eunuchs can be a problem, but I am not sure what can be done about it. This isn't AOL, after all. But the three suggested rules are certainly worth a try. :(

I don't think so, really. If you are in public chat, encouraging someone to cut themselves then and there, or to castrate or penecomize themselves, you deserve to get tossed. The only exception I'm willing to make is if it is part of a fantasy. And then it should be clearly mentioned as such somewhere along the way.

To do anything else is to risk someone els

Again, if it's fantasy, either start off with saying it's just a fantasy, or something. Just somehow get the idea across that it is JUST A FANTASY.

If you can't do this, perhaps you should take it private.

And remember, these rules are just for the public chats. There is absolutely no way to enforce anything in a private chat.

One last thing, it is too bad that the chat room cannot be monitored at all times, but there's really no way around it. It's the nature of things.

IEunuch.

(*Sigh*.... guess you can't please everyone...)

I can live with that, as long as it's fictional or fantisy.
