I am going to do it!

I am going to do it. I have to admit I have never told my doctor I was a eunuch. Recently my doctor left the health system and now I have a doctor new to the area. For years I worked for the local health systems and was insured by them. My doctor was also an employee of the health system. Now that they do not employ me or insure me it is time to come out. During my next appointment my new doctor may be meeting his first voluntary eunuch. His first male to eunuch transgendered person.

I felt it was time for me to receive the appropriate care I deserve. I no longer have to fear working for an employer that is self insured and has easy access to an employees medical records. I will present myself as I am and I will expect him to be professional. If need be I will offer him information if he is curious. I will let you know how all this goes.

Telling an doctor you are an eunuch is easy, now telling the doctor you are gay, that could be bad! I have seen a few doctors, and every one of them think nothing about me being an eunuch, they just check it out.

Thanks Tugon! :)

Please keep us posted on the outcome! I will certainly be very interested to know how your new doctor responds. Hopefully - being a medical professional - he or she should at least be willing to listen and accept your condition. How far that will extend on a personal level is difficult to say, and you may want to expect some questions, so it might help to think out your answers :D.

If they are anything like the doctors I know on the NHS here where I live ... there is a good chance they will try and offer you HRT. Hopefully, they will also be able to offer other things too. Perhaps bone density scans, and maybe bloodwork, particularly (as I've noticed from the paperwork in my file) something concerning thyroid activity. Though nobodies ever explained to me exactly how this is realted to testosterone. 😵‍💫

Thanks EunuchOH and thefraj. My appointment will be 9/26 and I will post the reaction. I was amazed at how little testing they wanted to do when your employer is self insured and they also own the doctor's practices. At 50 my prostate has never been checked. Of course we all know it is probably fine. At around this age they will also suggest a colonoscopy but that never happened. I have been on blood pressure meds and even went 2.5 years without seeing the doctor. I just called in and asked for refills. Now that I will be paying out of pocket I want to know how healthy I am.

As far as any talk about HRT the answer is a big no! I would like a bone scan. I am fairly healthy but would like to be reassured.

I think you'll find that your new doc will handle it professionally. It took me a while to tell mine. I later learned that the gay clinical practise to which I attend has a number of castrates and even prides itself on having developed good treatment regimes. It's interesting that my doc still spends a couple of secs at each regular physical feeling up my sac, of course not aslong as with intact guys.

I have ingested testosterone, but had a bone scan a couple of years ago just to satisfy myself everything was OK. It was.

I've only had gay docs for 10 years. I'm moving in a few months to one of the idyllic Gulf Isles in the Strait of Georgia, but have decided to make the ferry trip to Vancouver for medical care.

after a long absence I feel I must say something concerning this subject.

My PA is being dropped as we speak after recommending I see a therapist due to my impulsiveness. He stated and I quote" anyone that would have their testicles removed due to an overactive sex drive should seek help.

This pisses me off to no end. He's history. 😠

Tugon, I would like to send you great solidarity for the appointment.

If it were possible to transfer "thought energy support", I'd send it; you now know that you have that. The outcome will be good for your health and I imagine that you may get blood tests and probably a need to supply urine in special bottles over a 24 hour time scale. That's one possible outcome and it would give your Doctor a good overall picture. Anyway, don't let me second guess at it. The best of my wishes for you.

Thank you Sac_mec. Knowing I have the support and well wishes of several members will make Tuesdays appointment much easier. When I first became a eunuch I felt one of a kind. Now I know I am on the same path with many wonderful people.

Well I did it. My doctor was talking about my age and need for a prostate check. It was then I had my opening. I said doctor I am a eunuch so I most likely do not have any prostate problems. He took it in stride and said it would be good to do blood work to be sure. Of course he did not mention again doing the manual prostate check. Might have been afraid of what he might find. He seemed concerned for my health but did not want to go down the path of why I was a eunuch. Next time when I see him I will be requesting a bone scan. I feel better now that he knows. Of course being nervous about his reaction my blood pressure was elevated so now I have a perscription for a diuretic along with my blood pressure pill. Oh and I also was given a diet. I will read it at the chinese buffet I am going to next.

Congratulations on the day. Naturally your stress levels would have been up

and it was an ordeal, of course. However neutral the Doctor was, at least he

is now aware and the check for Osteosporosis is a good idea. I guess you'll both have to slowly establish a good patient/Doctor relationship. Be assured that those "cyber waves of connection and fraternity" were full on for you!

Thanks for the update tugon.
