I stopped hormones about a week ago after 6 months......came down slowly, was at 2mg.

But damn did I ever start getting grumpy, depressed......

I really enjoy the way I felt ON 2mg of estrofem a day so I went back on.....very calm and serene 99% of the time.....otherwise I'm snapping at people etc.......and I'm sure that'll calm down when I do go off again....but for now I'll go 3 more months since that's all I have left....

Anyone else experience this?

Not to sound flippant, but approximately half the population suffers similar symptoms when THEIR supply of estrogen runs out (i.e., menopause).

You are simply experiencing the bad form of hormone-withdrawl. If the hormones agree with you and they are removed, you are worse off. (Conversely, if the hormones don't agree with you -- as in the case of testosterone -- and then are removed, you are better off.)

Look up menopause symptoms and see whether it describes how you feel.

Ya, I went back on them today and almost immediately felt a calm (Tha'ts probably mental as I've been off them 2 weeks).......

for whatever this is worth I'm on Androgel (Testosterone) and if I forget my morning rub I turn into "Man-Bitch" pretty quickly.

I experienced pretty much the same thing when I had to go off my estrogen for 2 weeks after my castration surgery. Started getting real bitchy, depressed and even experienced some hot flashes. Very nasty!

What you experienced is very normal if you discontinue the use of any hormone along these lines......it's simple withdrawal.

Why did you discontinue the use of your estrogen? If the estrogen agrees with you and you're not having any problems keep taking it, unless the side effects.....feminization......is your concern.
