I saw the movie yesterday. There is a fake castration scene, that means, the girl ties her victim on a table, uses ice cubes on his genitals as an anasthetic an prepares a video camera, so he can watch his orchiectomy on the TY live. Later he is able to free himself and realizes, that he is still intact. The girl had inserted a castration movie in the video recorder to make him believe he saw his own castration. The whole thing lacks credability with respect to the pain of surgery. It also never really becomes clear why she doesn't perform a real castration or drops the issue of castration at all, because at the end she forces him into suicide like she did with the other padophile who was involved in the murder of her friend. In my opinion Hard Candy is not such a thrill for an audience into castration fantasies.
