This early east coast aftermnoon, I caught a med type show, on one of those small chanals. About sex change Ops., on kids. Pretty standard stuff, till one was a boy born with only one Ball, a Cock, and Tubes without women's gonads. The doc wanted to make Him a Girl. Mom and Dan said NO WAY! He then gets an ok for only a biopsy to see in his one ball is working ok . He castrates the kid thinking that without any balls mom will say ok to making the boy a girl. The ball he cut out was according to the Hospital, fine/normal. The kid is now all fucked up, and mom is suing the doc.

Some of these fµ©?!ñg doctors, with their idiot notions that it's all just fine to change a kid's gender whenever they see (or cause) any deformity at all, make me mad enough to start shooting! (Where's that sniper rifle?)

This whole radical feminist notion that we all start life tabula rasa, just waiting to be programmed by our environment into whichever gender our parents -- or the doctors -- want us to become, has been disproven with tragic results time and again. Yet idiots like this a§§¶ø¿e refuse to accept the facts. He should not only be sued, he should have his license to practice medicine permanently revoked, in all 50 states.

The issue here is one of: would you rather have a kid with a perfect looking pussy and who will NEVER have an orgasm or one who has ambiguous genitalia ans who is orgasmic?

Even if a boy has no visible penis or even testes but are geneticaly male with the XY chromosome he should have the chance to grow up as a boy and until he reach puberty he can decide for himself wether he want to stay as male or change to female. Many of these so called "doctors" still believes that a less than perfect male genitals means that a boy is better off turning to a girl, yets its been proven that genetics often decide male and female and less significant is hormone and in psychological but they can all be linked genetically.

I was reading an old version of the Encyclopaedia Britannica (1747, I believe), and in the entry for Castration, it gave the orchiectomy "how to" procedure in detail. The article ended by saying that it was now illegal to castrate boys, and physicians caught doing so would be forced to be castrated themselves.

That would be a good start. He should also be sued and barred from pratice as well.

Did we not learn anything from the John/Joan case (of Bruce/Brenda/David Reimer?).

I saw that episode on the discovery channel too! I couldn't believe how persistant the doctor was,it was just unbelievable! I tried to go to the site and find more info,but I couldn't.

One of the outcomes of early comments (read: lies) by Dr. John Money on the success (read: failure) of the John/Joan case was that it seemed all right to give boys sex changes as babies--it seemed that you could make a girl just by raising the kid like that (that's called nurture).

This might be one of the reasons why the doctor in question thought he could get away with mutilating the child--it had been done many times before.

Gender (between the ears) is arrived at by nature and is inborn. You can't change it. But you can change the sex (between the legs).

Sex reassignment as babies should be illegal and deemed immoral. It is not easy being raised as the wrong sex.

I think it's disgusting. If this had been done to one of 'my' five boys, the doctor would have been hurt. Badly. Probably beyond the ability of medicine to repair him. I would think that an implant of another cosmetic testicle would have been much simpler to do in later life, oh but wait, he would have lost like $50k if he took the easy and sensible way? Probably didn't hesitate to circumcise him either.

At some age/point in time, there's no doubt that the child already has identified himself as a boy, unless they get REALLY lucky (think Kelly_2) and the boy identifies as a girl anyway. That would be a good resolution, but then how many times do they listen to a boy - IF he brings it up at all - that he thinks he should be a girl? The issue has been raised before, I believe, by other 'trans-folks' that they wished counselling and surgery had been available during puberty years or even before. Still, that's another can of worms to open. It's ok for a doctor to decide, but not the parents/child?

Still, how do you deal with the issue of a kid who doesn't think he/she fits into the body of birth or doesn't like the genital setup? From age 11 up to early twenties, and then from about 30 on, but especially from 11 through my teens, I was convinced that the idea of having balls just wasn't right. I was also dumb enough to mention it ...

I can't even begin to fathom a doctor castrating a toddler or preschooler like this. Even in the event of serious ruptures, they'll move heaven and earth to save the damaged jewel.
