Out of curiosity, I'm wondering if there are any employers out there who would be interested or even glad to hire a eunuch. I'm thinking that a eunuch butler or chauffer would be in demand if the employer was told about the persons sexual status. I think I would hire a eunuch to guard my children and teenagers. A true eunuch would not think about doing anything sexually inappropriate with them. But how do you get the word out and are we ready to take the risk and reveal our sexual or non-sexual status? I'm not thinking of S & M scenes or being the slave of some Mistress. Maybe some wealthy elderly woman would feel more comfortable around a eunuch. Thoughts, please! Hash

I think people in some situations would like to hire a eunuch. I think my eunuch temperament helped me land my current job caring for a gentleman with alzheimers. Even he knows somethings different. He once said to me "You are a man but better somehow. I can't put my finger on it". I think employers who have been faced with multiple sexual harassment claims would love to hire eunuchs. Of course I think we should demand a pay premium.

I agree, there are some jobs that are probably better suited for eunuchs;

Childminding

Escorts for women

Caring for elderly

Caring for the sick

Homemakers?

Bouncers for nightclubs?

Any job which requires compassion, the ability to overlook sexual urges and deals with vounerable people might be quite well suited.

Our social problem is due to events of the past, which has left us with no position or recognition by Western society. This is a blessing and a curse.

Not being recognised for our qualities allows us to persue almost any career. Today we are doctors, supermarket employees, carers, computer programmers. If we lived in a society which recognised eunuchs, we might find our jobs chosen for us, or else felt compelled to follow a career path we would not freely choose.

I did once read about a firm that specifically employs only post-menopausal women to work on their production line. The article did not specifically state that fertile men are also banned from the line, but there would be some logic in it as the firm makes Thalidomide.

I've given some thought to this subject since it opened. Perhaps the ancient world had it right when positions that required the greatest degree of integrity were held by eunuchs.

I bet Washington, D.C. would run a hell of a lot smoother (no pun intended).

I wonder what kind of response we would receive if we placed an add in? Let's say the New York Times. With the add stating something like this: Eunuch's available to employers with unique requirements. Eunuchs are loyal, dedicated, hardworking, and above all - can be trusted not to engage in anything sexually improper or inappropriate. By the way, the Fraj has a good idea about legitmizing eunuchs. Eunuchs in India are doing this very thing. I watched a special about an Indian Eunuch who was the mayor of a town and he was doing a great job and everyone loved him. I wish I would have recorded it. Hash

There is a brief essay by Mark Twain, where he suggests that both bank presidents and politicians ought to all be eunuchs for exactly that reason. I'll see if I can find a copy to post. If anyone else finds one first, please post it since I no longer have quick access to a good library.

Lose your card? Or did you not pay a late fine? Lost my privileges once for not paying a five cent fine. They gave my card back and dropped the fine when I threatened to become an active illiterate. It was sometime in the last century.....

I haven't heard of this, but suspect it could become a "hit." In strip clubs customers generally aren't allowed to "touch" the girls and there are bouncer types watching all the time. If I was owner of an upscale strip club I would certainly consider putting a couple of naked or thong clad eunuchs on stage as conspicuous security staff, perhaps with a belt holding a small scabbard.

I think that customers would have a healthy respect for the rules with these "guys" looking over the scene. They could probably even earn tips, and do an occasional dance for the ladies.

Just a thought, but, I could see it taking off.
