I think we would have to wait for Paolo, but I doubt if Fenris is a Staffy. The picture of him? lying on the ground shows that the muzzle is too long.

Why the interest in his/her state. Staffies, even when entire, are wonderful people dogs - they are just not dogs dogs. This it true even if they have been castrated or spayed.

The problem with them is that they get into the hands of people who want fighting dogs, especially since american pit bulls are banned, and they treat them to make them vicious. Given proper treatment they can be wonderful pets.

Thanks for the comments. I wanted to see if I could get the IMG and URL functions to work here, and it seemed like a good pic as any to use.

Fenris is actually a female, fixed, although I'm beginning to wonder if there isn't some gender dysphoria going on there.

According to the vet, she's a Staffordshire/black lab mix with a touch of something else. She's 7 months old and just broke 40 lbs and still growing. The muzzle may be a bit too long, but the jowls and TEETH and muscles certainly confirm the bull terrier part! If you click the thmb image, you get the big picture, which I should have mentioned.

I did not mean to put you down. But a lot of people do have the wrong idea about staffies. This afternoon, I showed the pictures of Fenris to a friend of mine who basically agreed that her muzzle was lab but the stance was pure staff.

At the time I had a 3yo, Tiger Brindle, pure-bred staff in my lap who was doing her best to get her tongue in my ear. No, she is not mine but, since she has been coming here since she was just a few weeks old, she thinks this is part of her territory. Particularly since my old plod passed away in Jan.

The point about mis-conceptions is that frequently when walking her in the park, we get comments about 'dangerous dogs'. When Sandy, (my dog) was alive and they were out, she was pretty good with other dogs, but since his death she is very aggressive to any dog larger than her. He was about twice her size, incidentally.

We do sometimes get people who are a bit worried when they see this big butch thing hurtling towards them, but when she throws herself on her back so that they can rub her tummy they realise that she will do anything for attention.

If someone wants a dog who will respond to a lot of love, they cannot do worse than a staffie. Because of the hours I am out of the house, I cannot have another until I retire, but, oh, how I would love one.

I was in no way putting staffs down as i feel that they are very underated as a breed and have a friend that breeds them and all of the ones i have come across have been over friendly :)and not a nasty bone in their body the same as Pit bulls but this is not the place to discuss dog breeds so i will shut up
