Weight gain post castration

I am ready to embark on a new diet and exercise program. After castration I have become less active. I will be using a diabetic diet program and have been walking for two weeks to build up to more strenuous exercise. I would like input from other castrated eunuchs not on hormonal replacements who have had success with weight loss. Please share your tips and suggestions. Thanks

I too would be interested in this topic, as a soon to be surgical eunuch who intends to avoid HRT if at all possible. I do intend to be watchful about calcium levels to avoid osteoporosis, but do not view calcium supplementation as HRT.

I'm on an HRT regime, and thus may not qualify in your opinion to chime in on this thread. I'll add though that the program is not an aggressive one. I'm doing ~4 grams of Androgel daily.

My experience is that only an aggressive, cardio oriented, exercise program will lead to weight loss. I commute to work by cycle daily - 25 km return, and probably do about 300 km of cycling weekly. I run every second day and likely do a total of 20-40 km weekly. I'm just beginning my training for a half marathon at the end of June and then the Out Games in Montreal in early August. I do a number of other activities quite regularly, including volleyball (3 hrs weekly), swimming (2 hrs weekly), etc. I don't diet.

I was well into middle-aged spread at 165 #s and a 33" waist before intensifying my exercise regime about 8 years ago. I'm now maintaining 140 #s with a 30" waist. While that's not bad for 5'9", I'd still like to be a little less, perhaps the 135 #s that I was in graduate school. I admit I wasn't eating properly when my weight was 125 #s as an undergraduate. I'm lucky to have a BF that admires my body and wholly accepts me w/o testicles.

I have some sort of advice here. Some years ago I had a low Spinal injury, sufficient to change my life totally. I was retired from work and was/continue to have chronic pain.

Overnight my life changed from being active in a manual work job and also being active in walking alot to suddenly having a sedentary life at home. I gained weight, became impotent firstly and the next bit you all know about.

I realised that with such a drastic change in daily lifestyle, for example in not using and burning energy because I didn't have it that I was getting fatter.

So, I stopped eating at mid-day entirely. I don't need this meal as I haven't burnt off any calories. I had to stop drinking alcohol anyway, but that also

has helped reduce my weight. End result I lost the gained weight and also lost

gained weight from becoming a Chemical Eunuch. I am about average for my height and weight and feel happier about that (and look better for it).

My advice would be cut out lunch if you can, or eat fruit then and watch your alcohol intake very carefully because that adds weight without you even realising. Being conscious of this issue right now puts you in a strong position

to maintaining your body weight. The actual mass might move a bit around the hips etc.. but it is the overall weight that is the issue. Hope this helps.

I have been on chemical castration drugs for 2.5 years then castrated last July. Today I weigh about 10 pounds less then a year ago. About the same as I did weigh about 4 years ago. I do not do all that much activity as I once did. I guess I am one of the lucky ones on the weight part.

In August of this year, it will mark my 6 years of being castrated (2 1/2 years physically) but I am on female HRT and, as we all know, muscle building does not rely on estrogens (but will contribute to weight gain). I was very over weight before I started chemical castration but managed to lose about 75 pounds within that first year. I kept the weight off the entire time since (within +/- 10 pounds). I would also add that I had a physically demanding job which helped to keep a good muscle tone, untill about a year ago.

I, like Sac mec, suffered a lower spine injury which left me pretty much unable to do any physical activity whatsoever. Needless to say the weight that I had lost came back. Within 6 months I had gain 60% of that loss back. I also realised that I needed to change my diet. It's been a tough struggle trying to lose weight now lacking the exrecise needed to burn those calories off.

All in all, if you keep an active lifestyle with some exrecise there should be no problem with weight gain post castration.

I have dropped about 50 pounds by following a fairly strict diabetic diet, eliminating most carbohydrates, substantively increasing vegetable and fruit intake and minimizing red meats (and most other meats). I would increase fish, but I dislike most of it that is not molluskal. Would like to lose another 10-15, but am not quite ready to give up my Canadian Whiskey, or whatever is the last contributing factor.....

If you're a full grown adult, then low calorie diet is best bet. I too am favoring the low glycemic index type diets (i.e. no processed carbs). I have lost 70lbs in past year.

The biggest problem with diets is the binge rebounds. I have successfully found an herbal appetite suppressant called chocomine. It is derived from cocoa beans and is very tolerable. It is really amazing to simply not be hungry even if I don't eat at all during a day!

I know many very active people who also eat too much and never really lose the weight. But as an adult, we only need a sustaining amount of calories. Vitamins, fibre and protein are more important.

Yeah, I've replaced the bike tires, probably at least twice since we met. I'm doing about 10,000 km annually on the bike and have finally accepted that means new bike tires about twice a year. I've reduced my car driving to about 5,000 km annually, and those tires are now 8 years old and still have lots o' tread left.

I do have body fat - about 11%. I have lots o' running friends with as little as 8%, and I'm afraid they're my model and why I'm not entirely happy with my bod.
