ooh, sounds like an egotistcal thread title, lol..just an introduction, really plus a plea for advice.....let me tell you a little.
Im 38 and TS. I tried to transition a few years ago and really made a botch of it and am currently living as male. This is a Bad Thing, lol. Money is hard to come by so private treatement for TS is out of the question. There is the national health over here, but the gits at the hospital who run it are, well...downright nasty and agressive.
Ive never really been an agressive person - never had a fight outside of primary school etc. So now I'm looking for castration as a step in the TS link..a way of removing male hormones and hopefully aiding me in my goals.
So, I appreciate Im very naieve when it comes to this so any advice or contact would be appreciated
many thanks folks

Dear Siobhan,
There is a lot of valuable information within this community and the web site site which may be helpful to you. Try using the search feature to explore the archives and the many postings on this topic.
If you are serious, I would suggest going the chemical route first.....just to make sure that this is something that's right for you. It's a bit late to change one's mind after being "snipped".
Best of luck in your quest!

yes, Im serious about it. Im wondering what effect on srs having been castrated before hand would have? Also, is it still possible to retain the scrotal sack without it atrophying (again, thinking srs)
TBh, I think my problem is gonna be money, LOL....same old story, lol...
anyway, thank you for the reply...
best wishes

Re: hello - a bit about me
siobhan,
One of the options for folks on your side of the Pond is the ORR clinic. (Do a search to find more information.) Not sure how much they charge for castration. Although you can't afford SRS now, maybe castration would fit in your budget. No woman should have to put up with those nasty testosterone factories.
As a way for us to get to know you better, would you like to explain how you went about your first transition and why you think it failed? What sort of hormones and T-blockers were you on? How long after the start of hormones did you wait going out in public as a female?
Enlighten us: Does national healthcare cover transgender care? Are you saying they cover it in name but not in practice? Or does it just take forever?
Hope things work out for you,
Terri

thank you :0
Ill look into the ORR clinic. The NHS does cover transgender. However, the experience I had with them was aggressive psychiatrists who frankly, were intimidating and disparaging. They also offered no help or contact with a support group. I didnt have access to the net back then so couldn;t search for any. I basically didn;t plan well enough and went out fairly quickly in public.
Its one hell of a scary experience. It didn't help that I was attacked a couple of times...rough area. I was on, I think I remember correctly, 7.5mg of premarin a day - something like that. Nothing else. The only reason I was on them was that my local doctor had prescribed them. When the gender clinic found out they wrote to him to stop him doing so.
So after the attacks etc, I went through the usual denile stage - again. Threw everything out etc. I certainly learnt a lesson about planning, lOL.
so this time IM trying to find support in various places, looking into castration to stop testosterone etc....Im bloody well determined to be who I am, not what everyone who sees me expects me to be. Sick to death of having to act every time I set foot out of the front door.
ahem
sorry....I get a bit emotional about it a lil, lol.
anyway, please feel free to ask more..Im always happy to natter
best wishes
