Here's a quick update on my Spiro and Androcur experiences.
Spiro: Got it, took 2x100mg/day for 50 days ('til I used up the supply) and noticed about zero changes. Still got erections, both spontaneous and upon stimulation. No other changes, either.
When it ran out I went to the Androcur box and started with 1/2 pill/day then 1 pill/day and ramped up, over the space of a week or so, to 2x50mg/twice daily for a week, then cut back (just a few days ago now) to 1x50mg evening and morning. I started on the Androcur about two weeks, following the package instructions to start carefully, use a high dosage for a short time, then cut back. That's right, isn't it?
Haven't noticed spontaneous erections in the past few nights, haven't had the opportunity to see if I can still get one, but -----
WOW O WOW!, am I ever out of energy!!! Last Friday I went on a job with an employee -- and I could hardly lift a 50-pound box and carry it down three flights of stairs. I've been doing work like that for years -- and all of a sudden, NO WAY.
I thought I'd noticed getting winded easily when walking, but yet I can do the same amount of time on the exercise bike without any hassle. Definitely much less energy for real work, though.
I'll stay on the 1x50 mg/twice daily for a while longer to see if any other changes become evident. From reading the literature and this forum I expected a loss of energy when taking the Androcur -- but I didn't understand it'd be this severe. I may have to go back to NO androcur -- I can't do my job with this sincere loss of muscle power without hirirng some young bucks to do my work. Good thing I own the company -- hiring someone isn't out of the question.
I'd be interested in reading your comments -- maybe I'm doing something wrong -- or maybe I'm not and this is how the stuff reacts in some folks.
Ta-ta for now.

Re: Better living through chemicals?
For some people decreased T can result in a lower level of energy. I am surgically castrated and noticed this myself. I'm 21, and I couldn't even go bowling without getting out of breath. Simple bowling never seemed to cause that before. I have recently begun taking 1 mg estrogen daily and am noticing an improvement. I think either hormone will work to maintain a reasonable level of energy.

Re: Better living through chemicals?
I have been on Androcur for over 2 months now. I started with 2X50mg/day for week 1, and did not seem to have any effects at all. I increased to 3x50mg/day for about 1 week and finally lost erections - spontaneous and stimiluated. Then slowly ramped down to 1X50mg/day for about 2 weeks. I got no more erections and far lowered libido. Then, trying to find the minimum maintenance dosage, I further brought down my dosage to 0.5X50mg/day for another 3 weeks, and that turned out to be too low and my erections and libido started coming back. I have ramped back up to 3X50mg/day for about 3 weeks now. My erections are almost gone again, but my libido stayed as high as before taking Androcur. Being a passive gay man who liked a lot of kissing and hugging, my urge for sex returned, though my urge to cum is by-and-large gone. I will stay on this dosage or increase further until my libido is lowered again.
With a lot of work and stimulation (visual, hand, everything) I can get to a completely dry climax, which was rather wild. The feeling of climax was not diminished either.
I increased with my exercise routines. I don't feel any drastic loss of energy, especially strength. But my job dosen't require strength. I guess everybody's mileage is different.
I also heard that some of these effects pass after your body had a chance to adjust to the lowered T levels. So, give it some time.

Re: Better living through chemicals?
Thanks, HKE and Plix, for your reassurances that maybe I'm not quickly turning into a 200-pound weakling. I'ts scary to have so little stamina so suddenly. I'll keep up my (very mild) exercise routine, and will also keep up the Cypro to see what further reactions I experience.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Re: Better living through chemicals?
You will notice that erectyle dysfunction should kick in very very soon and over time that you will lose alot of girth too. Expect your skin and hair to feel drier and you'll find some skin moisturiser and Hair Conditioner will help out; your body is, of course, going through changes now and to begin with it can be a difficult time because the hormonal balance is changing. Things will settle down but the stamina loss stays and you will need to put your bodies needs ahead of strenuous games - do avoid that kind of activity. Your sex drive will disappear, utterly and totally. I hope that this answers the question mark in your thread title.
