End of an era?

Another TS girl I know was trying to get her orchiectomy scheduled with Dr. Spector, but was told by him that he is about to retire. Spector e-mailed her stating that he is about to close his practice and suggested that perhaps Dr. Biber in Colorado might do it now (Dr. Biber is an SRS surgeon BTW).
Dr. Spector going out of business really would be the end of an era.
Love,
Kelly (class of Dr. Spector, 2001)

How many has he done in his 40 years or whatever of practice? And how many, like me, are grateful for his help?
I asked him how many. He said that he has been actively doing this on a regular basis starting just a few years ago. He said about 400 or so.
Most, if not all of his former patients that I know are satisfied. At least the TS ones.

I emailed Jeff to find out if Dr. Spector really is retiring. Below is his reply.
Please read this post that I have submitted to the news servers,
Thanks.
Hello all:
This is Jeff from Dr. Spector's office. There have been rumors going
around
about Doc retiring. Well they are only partially true. Doc is 84
years old
and has decided to step back a little. He has entered into partnership
with
another doctor, a urologic surgeon, who will be performing the
operations.
Doc will remain the chief of staff and will set up all appointments and
continue to offer his 50+ years of experience to those in need. Feel
free
to call or e-mail doc with any concerns. His e-mail is:
felixspector.com@felixspector.com
telephone: 215-339-4090 (10am - 6pm) 215-351-9114 (after 6pm)
Thanks for your time.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Jeff

That the work of Spector's clinic may continue is welcome news. While I know there are some that would like to see Spector's practice expand to include other procedures, especially penectomies, this will only occur if someone in the clinic gains hospital priveleges. Spector doesn't have it. There may be some issue in obtaining it for the purposes of the clinic. BTW, while not well-publicised, I'm aware that Spector does remove scrotums, either at the time of castration or later. He also routinely offers scrotal reductions with castration.
