Sorry I haven't been around much everyone... I miss you all :)

This past weekend I spent at the Renaissance festival, before that I was doing stuff for a job, that I was hired for on Friday. I started work this Monday, and after work I come home and "play mom" to my girlfriend's son.

So, in summation.

Work + Ren Faire + "Being A Mother" = No Internet Time

Here is a pic of me and my girlfriend at the Renaissance Faire (she went in "boy mode" but she looks like a butch girl)

It was my first Renaissance Faire ever, and we went in garb! It was sooooooo much fun!!! I'd recommend Ren Faire to enyone who has never gone! It truly rocks socks!!! :)

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know I love ya, I miss ya, and I haven't forgotten y'all!!!

~hugs you all~

Welcome back. We always could spot a friend. Welcome back. And I smile when I think how you must've been.

Welcome back, Your dreams were your ticket out. Welcome back, To that same old place that you laughed about.

Well, the names have all changed since you hung around, But those dreams have remained and they've turned around.

Who'dve thought they'd lead ya? (Who'dve thought they'd lead ya?) Back here where we need ya? (Back here where we need ya?)

Yeah, we tease him a lot, Cuz we've got him on the spot. Welcome back.

Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back. Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

Welcome Back Kotter!!!, I mean TG 23 of NY...

Yes, any of the regional variants of the Renaissance Pleasure Faire can be a grand experience. A chance to dress in costume and leave most inhibitions behind.

If you enjoy the experience, you ought to explore The Society for Creative Anachronism, an organization that seeks to recreate the Middle Ages, “not as they were, but as they ought to have been.” Everyone who wishes is a lord or a lady, and no one needs to be a serf. There are kingdoms, duchies, and shires scattered throughout the “known world”.

The group has been around for 40 years. I was active in its earliest days, when there was but a single kingdom, centered in Berkeley.

SCA tournaments are occasions for jousting, feasting, and the declamation of medieval love poetry. My son, when he was active, became skilled in the knitting of chain mail - though out of modern spring steel. Gender was more flexible in the Middle Ages than now and members tend to be accepting of that flexibility. And, eunuchs were not that uncommon in the period.

And, you could become Lady Jessica for all the known world to know and love....

I'm just an armorsmith's apprentice.

Well, technically.

I read how-to's online, and teach myself. Wish I had some freetime to get back into learning it.
