Loss of physical strength

I read on a site written by a man who had undergrone castration that his physical strength and muscle mass had decreased noticeably after surgery. I'm not exactly "buff," but I do try to keep in shape. If after surgery, I continue to diet and exercise properly, will I experience significant muscle/physical strength loss?

Yes you will loose strength even if you excersize. The plus is if you excersize you most likely will not gain much weight. I did not excersize and gained a fair bit of weight and a lot of it around my rear end. My wife said I was over eating but I still tryed to loose it which was harder than if I would have been excersizing in the first place. I work in a office and don't get much excersize at work so I have had limited sucess. My strength is a lot less than when I had my balls but that was not unexpected since my doctor pretty well explained the end result of his procedure. He has casterated a lot of men and has seen a wide range of results but he said that I would definatlly be loosing a lot of my strength and he was right. He also informed me when I was deciding between drug treatment and casteration that the chemically castrated men also loose their strength.

Well if you exercise and eat a good diet you will be ok and it wont be as bad.
You may lose some strength and feel relief after your done if you are really looking foward to it.
Wish good luck when you get done!
YOU can always go on a slamm dose of hormones so that you will not notice change really and feel what you are looking for!
Good luck and know what you really want!

Hello, at one time I posted a question on this same topic and someone was kind enough to respond back with suggestions for vitamin supplements and other suggestions to reduce/counter the loss of strength. If that person would be kind enough to contact me I would be very grateful.
Regards to all,

I'd like to know what kind of vitamens or other suppluments I can possibly take. Like I said, I'm not buff--far from it--I just don't want to get weak and flabby. I try very hard to keep retain a lifestyle of good diet and exercise and I'm really worried about how much castration/nullification will effect that. Any other advice would be really helpful, thanks!

I don't know about loss of strength, but I maintain a rigourous exercise and workout regimen, and I've managed to lose ~15#s since castration 5 years ago - now 140#s at 5'9" and 61 years. I bike about 300 km weekly - more in the summer, and run about 25 km weekly. I do distance running events and usually finish much faster than the average for all male runners and near the top for my age group. I also do a bit o' weight and strength training, and I appear more muscular. My lower body is very muscular though thin from the running and cycling. Of course, I was hypogonadic prior to castration, and have been on moderate testosterone supplementation for ~6 years. Just maintaining a good regimen and program will do wonders for most people with or without gonads.

Me personally, i went from being able to walk 25 miles with 100lb's on my back, 16lb machine gun, up a mountain, ... to ... struggling to take out the trash. My strength bottomed out. I still am strong enough to do everything I have to do, but I lost alot of strength, and I am physically active and excersize routinely.
It's bound to happen in some way, whether it is a drastic change or not... you're bound to lose some strength. Keep in shape as well. I put on pounds easier now than I did when I was a male. Or maybe that's from all my chocolate consumption *wink*

If you take female hormones ans trangender it is bound to decrase energy and strength.
Guess over the counter anabolics can also help out with things and make your body stronger if that is what you want exercise diet and continue to take supplements and pleanty of calcium to keep up your bones.
You will keep up your muscles with over the counter anabolic or Dhea as long as the body has something to go off off if you pkan not to feminize or go tg then I think the best thing to do would be to do that and make sure your happy and want it as some are really happy with having it done while others look back it is best to go foward and keep on trucking.
Has been hard for me also and think I have a long road ahead of me myslef.
Good luck and hope that you decide what you think about it and look foward to being done and haveing a sucessful recovery if that is what you decide best luck!

Here is an older thread you might be interested in about muscle loss (
http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/showthr ... uscle+loss).
Yes, over the years it has become much more difficult to do the jobs I once did with ease. From the summer of 2004, to the end of April this year, my position changed where I work and I found myself behind the wheel driving a lot more. I could feel the effect of that after only a few months.
Now however, since April of this year (when I severly injured my lower spine), I have basically had to be off my feet for may hours at a time (I still can't function as I once did). I have not worked since then. I doubt very much I could go back now doing what I did before I was injured. The lack of being physically able to do anything, plus the further effects of castration, have left me very weak to say the least.

I'm female and do judo 3x a week. I would say I'm strong for being what I am, but I am no match for pure strength against pure strength with the men in judo. I have to use my size as an advantage and for sure technique to beat them! I do have defined muscles and am strong- just I do not take testosterone. I can be agressive at times, however. Just depends.
