I do not know how female hormones will effect the brain and thinking. I do know that with out male hormones I do think and act different.
Hormones are very powerfull thing and not something that you should be trying without some help. Easy to overdose.

Will usually have a calming effect (less aggression), increase emotional reactivity, perhaps heigthen senses and lower/modify sex drive. Not sure about the rest.

Re: One more time a question
OK, speaking from my perspective of what they have done for me (as a transsexual)
1.) Stabilized my moods. I became outgoing, happy, witty, fun, silly, and a pleasant person. When I was male, I was mean, violent, spent alot of time in solitude, shy, and suicidal. Everything changed for the better.
2.) All my senses were heightened. Smell, sight, sound, taste, and touch, all magnified in a BIG way!!!
3.) My sexuality altered. I became MUCH more interested in sex. I always had the hots for guys not girls, but my libido was actually present. Most of my trans-girl friends were strictly attracted to women before horomones. After a while, men had a new shine about them... they were somehow sexy. All my "strictly girls" transfriends, are now happily bisexual.
4.) I am not sure if this is a result of horomones, or the fact i have no gender identity issues, but I feel FAR more intelligent as a woman. I'm not sure if thats because I am not distracted by gender dysphoria, or if it is the horomones, but my intelligence has definitely heightened.
5.) On the downside, I did become more moody. I was more of an emotional rollercoaster after i started horomones. I always cried alot as a boy, but now I cry for no reason whatsoever. I also find the ups and downs to be more drastic. I am also more of a softie now. Little romantic things touch my heart. I love to be held. Touch, caress... i crave physical contact. I love hugs and cuddling. Again, not sure if that was repressed gender identification, or the horomones... but that has certainly changed.
Well, thats a good start on the mental aspect of horomonal changes in my brain... hope it helped!!!
