Testicles

I read a posting on another board by a man in the process of having his body modified to have female genitals. He said they had just removed his scrotum and IMPLANTED his testicles in his body. What is the effect of doing this? I am not a medical person but I have been led to believe that in a TG medical procedure the male testicles are removed??? I have also been told that the testicles hang down to prevent excessive heat from the body. IF that is why they hang down, what is the purpose/effect of sewing them up in the body? Might make a good story IF you got the facts right?

Master Bob~
Some men want female genitals without the female attributes. They want to be men for all outward appearances but be able to have sex with a man like a woman might. It's not as uncommon as you might think. I know of a number of men that are living that way today very happy with their change.
The testicles hang outside the body for the production of sperm. The interior of the body is too warm for maximum production of sperm; however, it's not to warm for the production of male harmones. They begin produciing testostrone before they descend to their external sack during puberty.
If they're returned to he body cavity, they still will produce testosterone in sufficient quantities to keep the male body adequately regulated to maintain sex drive and male muscle mass.
Since they aren't interested in having children by their own sperm the lessened or nulled production is not a consideration for them to consider GR. (i.e. Genetial Reassignment)
I've been told it already has made a decent story. There are at least three characters in the story The Ties That Bind in the Archives that lived a portion of their lives with GR.
