I am 20 years old, and straight! But I dont like the side effects of testosterone (anger, libido). What drugs can i take to lower my test. levels, without raising my estrogen?

And where can i buy these?

I was on Androucr for a long time before I was castrated this year. I have not noticed any difference from the drug and the real thing so far.

One of the better priced options for Androcur is www.mastersmarketing.com . Look for it under its generic name of Cyproterone Acetate. I would recommend the 50 mg dose taken twice per day, once in the morning and once in the early evening. Once you are "under control" you may be able to back it down to a maintenance dose of one tab per day.

Androcur is an anti-androgen, so it simply shuts down testosterone production. It does not introduce estrogen into your system. That said, your body creates modest levels of estrogen whose effects are masked by your testosterone. Using an anti-androgen MAY cause some changes to your secondary sex characteristics to include:

* less body hair (or regrowth)

* greatly reduced or no male pattern baldness

* possible swelling of your breasts

Although they will require your Doctor's name for customs purposes, I don't believe it is checked. It is legal to import up to a 90 day supply of medicines from overseas for "personal use."

I hope this helps you. Let us know what you do and how things work for you.

A quite effective and androgen-blocker and anti-androgen, available relatively cheaply from herbalists and health/vitamin shops without a prescription, is saw palmetto (serenoa repens) extract, preferably capsules containing the equivalent of 3 gm. of fruit of the saw palmetto, a dwarf almost trunkless fan palm, which is found in large areas of parkland in Florida and coastal Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama. It works through substances in it preferentially occupying the testosterone receptor sites on the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which enzyme normally converts testosterone to the much more androgenically potent dihydrotestosterone, which is the steroid that actually "does all the damage" to the body. In addition, the substances in it act upon the pituitary, in the same "negative feedback" way as testosterone, to cause reduction in its secretion of gonadotrophins (LH/FSH) which in turn cause the secretion of testosterone.

Saw palmetto is used to cure prostate enlargement, and as a palliative for prostate cancer, in men, these being conditions caused by testosterone.

There is also Spironolactone, which cut my testosterone to lower than that of a genetic female. I buy my Spiro at :

If you're considering chemical castration, you also owe it to yourself to check out surgical castration too. I know most people say chemical castration allows your to "try it first" i believe in the long run, surgical castration is cheaper and much easier on the body than the alternatives. It's a simple proceedure done on an outpatient basis, and you'll leave the doctor's office producing 95% less testosterone than before. Your erections, aggression and libido will be significantly reduced permanently.

I've been trying various chemical approaches to lowering my testosterone, but they all have downsides. They work great for some. But I've come to the conclusion that the simplest way is really just to get castrated. Call doctor Kimmel in Philadelphia, he'll be able to help you figure out if surgical castration is right for you at this time.

Bruce2,

We know from pure experience that castration, the real thing (cutting of the nuts), is not the best solution. Chemical castration, as a trial period, has proven the best start for most men. The abrupt halt of testosterone is difficult at best. The slow and controlled depletion of testosterone via chemical castration allows men to realize their dreams without most known issues.

There are plenty of men on this site who will give you their testimony on the ill affects of castration in such an abrupt manner. There are also plenty of men who will speak of their experience with chemical castration and how they managed their goal of testosterone depletion. And then there are guys who will tell you about their castration experience and replenishing testosterone via cream, patch or shot.

Take care and keep us posted on your goal...
