I know that I have been telling people to start with 2 shots at once & then continue with one every month but that might not be right for everyone. Since we all generate different amounts of hormones maybe everyone should start with one shot (150mgs) per week until their libido is completely gone & then take one every 4 weeks from the date of their last shot.

You have to realize that this is all very experimental, since no "one size fits all" dose has ever been established for libido suppression. The 300mgs-600mgs dose given to sex offenders is, I believe, excessive & quite possibly dangerous, not to mention expensive. Easy does it.

i've been having a wierd experience with depo-dosage lately.

a year ago, i had taken two 150 mg shots within a couple of days of each other. in about three weeks, I felt great! controlled libido, more emotional, less agressive...

i sporadically took a few more doses over the next 6 months, but basically trailed off.

all the horrors of testosterone came back after about 8 months... so I decided to go on again, but with more regular doses.

I decided to wean into the effects by taking 1/2 shot every two weeks. after a month of minimal to no effects, I started a shot every two weeks. still nothing like I had experienced a year ago. so then I took two shots every two weeks!

It's now been three weeks since my second set of two shots, and another set kicks in next week.

I still don't feel like my libido is even close to as reduced as the original two shots a year ago!! (although it is substantially less than when I started this new "depo program"

so... my experience has been that weaning into the shots was negative. It seemed I built up a tolerance or something to the shots.

I feel that If I had taken the two shots initially and then weaned off, maybe one shot every two weeks, the results would have been much better.

Androcur recommends larger doses to acheive desired effect, then reducing your dose.

Maybe depo is the same...

(Just thought I'd add my experience in case it helps anyone)

***NOTE: also, I am younger and therefore have higher levels of T. so this is probably a higher dose than others should take.

Depobeginner -- I do think with younger guys it's harder to "turn off" the testicles. Perhaps you should add 50-100 mg of Androcur to your routine, as Androcur is especially good at shutting down the testicles.

That said, BE VERY CAREFUL FOOLING AROUND WITH HIGHER DOSES ! These are powerful drugs, and can be dangerous. Talk to your doc before making big changes!

Just remember the changes can become permanant after 6 months to an year with Androcur.

So, guys wind up PERMANENTLY castrated after taking Androcur? Any feminization? Maybe I have been taking the wrong thing.

I've been adding 50mg of Androcur to my Depo Provera regime; after about two weeks I've noticed some great results, I used to feel "slightly horny" on Depo (like I COULD masterbate if I wanted to) but now I don't get that feeling anymore. I've noticed my balls seem even more shut down, and my cock seems a bit smaller. At this point I'd say I've achieved "impotence".

Androcur doesn't shut down the Estrogen production as does Depo-Provera. As far as feminization that depends on too many factors. The time it takes to be PERMANENTLY castrated from using Androcur highly veries from 6 months to over 2 years to never.

I plan to be on depo for a long time and then maybe eventually surgical.

the results and varying side effects i've heard with androcur scare me, and i'd rather not mix the drugs.

i've achieved the desired effects with depo before and hope to again.

A shot once every 2 weeks is more convenient than pills daily for me.

maybe not eventually though.

One does not develop a tolerance to DP. However, it DOES accumulate in the body. If you start & stop for a while what is in your system will leach out. Therefore, if you start up again it will take awhile to build up that "reserve" & be as you were when you quit.
