Castration / Testosterone and me

Hi all:

I was diagnosed as Hypogonadism. Low testosterone. I'm in my mid 40s. I had fairly good sized balls and was able to have sex but had little interest. Sex felt good but not anything to go crazy about.

My Mood was lousy. *So bad I was almost diagnosed with depression! Energy level zip. My doctor put me on Testosterone and I got lots of energy. My lousy mood went to great and I have a strong sex drive. Explaining what it feels like to have a drive again is (I think) impossible. Interest in sex is increased and the feeling of orgasm is many times stronger. Ejaculations and orgasmic spasms are much increased. On HRT I start having a strong need for sex shortly after orgasm. And while pre HRT I was having sex once a month (And at times I was only giving not receiving) I now would like it daily!

Side effects of HRT are shrinking testicles. Penis maybe as well? *Can anyone comment?? I've spoken to Dr Spector about having my testicles removed and prostetic ones inserted. He thinks silicone is a bad idea to place in the human body. He agrees that keeping dead or dying testicles is dumb. He suggests I do away with HRT however. As I've been down the low T road I'm frankly not sure how happy I would be to have it reduced even lower (to zero)

The castration part does not freak me out too much. My Testicles don't work right and they just keep getting smaller and appear to be retracting into my body. I do have many questions for those of you surgicaly castrated however. Do you have Phantom Pains? What happens to the cords? What happens to the scrotum? Does it shrink? Did you opt to have it removed? If so how happy are you with that result? Has anyone gone for prostetic balls? I rather like having "somthing" to snap the cock ring on if nothing else.

I know that some of you have insane sex drives and will do anything to eliminate it. Bravo to you if you can handle it. Frankly the feeling I got when I started HRT was fantastic. I can't imagine going back. I don't say that to offend anyone who desires eliminiation of sex drive etc. There are times when I wish I could dial my new found one down a bit so I kind of understand.

I think I can answer some of your questions. I was surgically castrated over 5 years ago. All that happens with surgical castration is that your testicles are gone - forever. No pain, phantom or otherwise, and that's frankly thebest part of being ballless. I'm one that's extremely pleased they're gone. The scrotum shrinks, but it's elastic. So that's not a big deal at all. I've had saline solution pumped into the sac. It easily still expands to hold at least one litre. It's hold implants if I so chose. Yeah, you're perceptive. I can no longer hold a cock ring. I've just a dick with a scrotum that's a mere fraction of its previous size. It disappears totally into the base of the cock when I'm hard.

I was also diagnosed as hypogonadic at an early age. I'd been told by a urologist in my early 20s that was my destiny. He said I'd feel mucho discomfort and offered to take them. I turned him down then and am glad that I turned him down at such an early age. I'm also glad I decided to have them removed when the pain and discomfort became too great. No regrets.
