Barnes & Noble has a good deal on DVDs. I was able to buy three released DVD volumes of Seinfeld--seasons 1-4 for eighty something dollars. This is my Memorial Day weekend activity aside from visiting the federal cemetery tomorrow.

Now, everyone will agree that Seinfeld is a show with a right-wing bias. It is about people with a basic Republican attitude about everything. They are completely focused on themselves. There are no Democrats on this program.. 🚬 🚬

I'd say it's a show about why that approach to life doesn't work.

Well, it's a show about New Yorkers. Its interesting that most of the shows about New Yorkers show the people as very self-centered: Seinfeld, Will & Grace, Sex in the City, Friends, Mad About You, etc.

Other people such as those in L.A. are stereotyped as self-centered as well, but the difference is that the New Yorker stereotype is that they are picky and hyper-critical, while L.A. folk are shown as vain and materialistic.

Like people in Dallas or Southern California. 🔨

The show is not specific about the characters' politics, but since they're West-side Manhattanites in the "arts," they may safely be assumed to be left-liberal. Liberal bigotry runs so deep that, were these characters not liberals in good standing, their careers would probably be disallowed. Are you trying to be witty by assuming all bad traits belong to Republicans and all good traits belong to Democrats, or are you sincerely mean-spirited? Oh wait! I thought all liberals were indulgent and tolerant. Now I'm really confused.

Manhattan is the red state part of a blue state, just as Baton Rouge is the blue state part of a red state. That should make everything perfectly clear.

Jerry wears expensive sneakers, which we can assume must be made by small children in fourth world countries. No good Democrat would wear those sneakers.

Elaine is opposed to smoking. That sounds like a Republican trait. President Kennedy smoked cigars. President Clinton smoked cigars. I have never seen President Bush smoke.

George would never volunteer to join the army. He probably waited to be born too late to fight in the Vietnam War.

Donald Trump is the model for Kramer. I doubt that Mr. Trump votes for Democrats.

I was a Republican when we were a minority. Senator Goldwater was never mean spirited. Republicans used to be kind people, at least when I was one. ;) ;) 🙄

New York, New York,,,,A wonderful town, The Bronx is up and the Battery is down. And people travel in a hole in the ground. But it doesn't represent the rest of the US. There really is civilization west of the Hudson River. Not liberal. Not conservative. Just civilization. :)

Yes, in Minneapolis, New Orleans, even Chicago, and many other places west of the mighty Hudson. If one is rich, Manhattan is a great place to live. As I am not rich, I cannot live there. :-\ :-\

I understand that there is some affordable housing below ground. However, who wants to live below ground on an island? ;) 🙄

If I'd had to hazard I guess, I would have assumed that the core group of four on Seinfeld were Democrats, simply because I know zero Republicans who are Jews. I thought most Jews were Democrats.

Most Jewish people I know are Republicans. Of course, most of my Jewish friends live in Louisiana or California. Those in California are all Republicans--they live in the Central Valley. The actress who plays Elaine is Jewish, but her character is not. I have no idea what Newman's religion is. He is, however, clearly a Republican. No postal worker would ever be anything other than a Republican, would he or she?

;) 😄
