hick hop
Did any of you hear the latest hot item in the popular "music" world?
"Country Hip Hop" also called "hick hop"
http://tennessean.com/entertainment/mus ... D=66334774
"This year, Troy Coleman is 34, goes by the name ''Cowboy Troy'' and is attempting to become the first African-American superstar in country music since Charley Pride.
Oh yes, and he's also trying to make it onto the country airwaves by rapping rather than singing. With country instruments backing his raps, Troy calls his style ''hick-hop.''
He's a nice looking black dude.

He does look nice. I kinda like hip hop. Why not try country hip hop? The sound is a good one.

Re: hick hop
If it's music, I like it! Grand Funk to Grand Opera I like it all. The Idea of "Hick-Hop" doesn't seem that strange to me but I doubt it will be widely accepted by country music fans or by the country music industry. --FLO--

Re: hick hop
...ah, yes...
But if you go downtown to a bar you may find somebody playing the Boogie-Woogie or the Blues. If you are very, very lucky, they may be playing it on an accoustic piano that is actually in tune...almost.
I actually can close my eyes and see things. Beautiful things from a simpler time.
At least, that is how I imagine... simpler times, when peace prevailed and people were not so complicated. Was there ever such a time? Don't you remember?
Here, try it! (http://www.barrycuda.com/)

Re: hick hop
Well, this was a hit song during both our times. And it's most popular version was sung by The Chipmunks. . . Modesty forbids me from actually singing it. .. .. ..
I especially like the chorus, it's a really magnificent example of English.
WITCH DOCTOR
DAVID SEVILLE
(Ross Bagdaserian, Jr)
I told the witch doctor
I was in love with you
I told the witch doctor
I was in love with you
And then the witch doctor
He told me what to do
He said that
Ooo eee,ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla, bing bang
Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla bing bang...
Ooo eee ,ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla ,bing bang
Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla bing bang
I told the witch doctor
You didn't love me true
I told the witch doctor
You didn't love me nice
And then the witch doctor
He game me this advice
He said that
chorus...repeat x4
You've been keeping love from me
Just like you were a miser
And i'll admit i wasn't very smart
So i went out and found myself
A guy that's so much wiser
And he taught me the way to win your heart.
My friend the witch doctor
He taught me what to say
My friend the witch doctor
He taught me what to do
I know that you'll be mine
When i say this to you
chorus...
You've been keeping love from me
Just like you were a miser
And i'll admit i wasn't very smart
So i went out and found myself
A guy that's so much wiser
And he taught me the way to win your heart.
My friend the witch doctor
He taught me what to say
My friend the witch doctor
He taught me what to do
I know that you'll be mine
When i say this to you
Oh baby
Ooo eee,ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla, bing bang
Come on and
Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla bing bang...
Ooo eee ,ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla ,bing bang
Ooo eee ooo ah ah ting tang

Re: hick hop
Cowboy Troy was on Imus one day this week. Had I heard it on any other morning show I'd have assumed it was a joke. The music is pukeworthy. Like Imus said "Now we can save time by hating two genres of music at the same time".

Well,
Personally, I liked the Purple People Eater better.
(No, NOT the one-eyed, one-armed flying Purple Papal Leader, either.)
