Back From Orchiectomy in Florida

Well, I am back from my orchiectomy surgery. I had it done in Florida by Dr. Reed, and I cannot say enough nice things about him. The surgery went great, I had little to no pain for discomfort, and his staff his top notch (Anne and Henry are both angels.) Even working through a small, one ince incision in the scrotum he was able to completely remove the spermatic cords, and I don't have any of the lumps or other problems some others have had when this is not done properly. I've had no post op problems, no mood swings or anything. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner. I whole heartedly recommend the Reed Center for this type of surgery.
He only does transgendered patients, and requires two letters of psychiatric clearance. He is probably not a choice for self-mutilation or fetish types.

I am so very happy when some reaches his/her goal in life. I wish you the very best in your new and better life. Too bad this doctor does not help others that want a sex change from a male to an eunuch.

the mood swings and hot flashes will hapen later they are not overnight things the hot flashes will happen in the first week typically and continue anywhere fron 3 months to 5 years depending on the person the mood swings will also happen they may be mild or severe and they typically happen in the first 6 months. Most importantly YOU need to have some one to keep an eye on you for WHEN YES WHEN the depression happen YES IT WILL HAPPEN and you will need someone to keep your head screwed on or you may do something stupid. Again the Depression WILL happen.

While depression isn't inevitable, it's common enough to be a serious concern. It isn't your mental attitude that will cause it, but, rather, the wild changes in body chemistry. With a rapid drop in testosterone level, MOST will experience depression. For many, it will be severe.
Even with male-to-female transsexuals, where there is generally a strong support network, a great many have such serious depression once they are well on the road to achieving their dreams that they attempt suicide. I have seen figures as high as 10%!
No matter what you think now, maintain your support network. Make certain that friends check in on you regularly. You are likely to have a rough time until everything settles down in your body. But, it will settle down into a new and stable pattern.

Hi!
Wonderful news!
And congratulations.
Do follow post-op instructions, and hopefully, all will be well. Mood swings are not necessary-happiness can be an outcome for us, too.
Thanks for the update!
Love and hugs,
Kelly

Everything is still going ok. I had a few mild mood swings around the one week mark, but other than that I feel fine from the surgery. I did have a hormone therapy problem, though. Apparently, post op the 2mg of estradiol I had been taking is WAY too high, and I developed a severe migraine, nausea, and muscle stiffness. I didn't realize what was causing it at first, but once I did I stopped the tablets all together and am gradually getting better. I'm gonna have to go back on HRT somehow, though, so I am going to try to get my doctor to prescribe the lowest effective dose of the patch and take it from there. I doubt I'll ever take the pills again, after the problems I had this week.

Werenotafraid
Mabie the 2.5 MG of androgel a day would be the best thing to try out first.
Or 200 MG of DEPO Testo a month.
How are things comming along!
Hope all is well!
Were you already on HRT since you stated you going to have to go back on HRT somehow?
What have the changes been like?
Your close to my age and I was cusrious about how things have been going for you? I also plan to get this finished soon!
I just do not have the funds to pay this Dr and will have to do it by other means.
Hope you feel better and get over the symptoms soon it does take a little while to overcome them.
Take Care!
