Has anyone tried ketoconazole ?
It is an antifungal medication, but it is also occasionally used to reduce male hormones in cases of Prostate cancer.
One interesting fact (if it is true) was the rate at which it works.
The chart I saw said a normal male went from T level of almost 600 down to a level of 55 in 48 hours.
Does anyone have any information?
ketoconazole

Re: ketoconazole
I assume that you are referring to, http://www.prostate-cancer.org/educatio ... m_HDK.html?
After a little googling, it appears to be an experimental drug in treating late stage prostate cancer. It is highly effective at reducing PSA and testosterone counts, but it also has a relatively high risk of causing elevated liver enzymes. If gone unchecked, permanent liver damage could be done. There are other side effects too. I would certainly recommend against taking any experimental drug when there are other choices available--androcur, and depo provera.
Just my two cents.

Re: ketoconazole
Ketoconazole is actually available in some over the counter fungus remedies. I don't know anything about possible liver toxicity, but I have heard that it is an extremely rapid testosterone destroyer. Perhaps this substance would be useful for someone that wants to try castration for a very short time, under a month.
In any case, I recommend chemical castration to every man at least once -- even though I'm not thoroughly castrated yet, the changes in my mind and perceptions are amazing. I'm beginning to realize why women are the wise ones, and how much time men waste every second of every day sizing up every available sex opportunity.

Re: ketoconazole
hi. well i studied medicine and let me tell you i am trying to find the right way to get out of my balls and the ketokonazol is the worst way for this. its true that sometimes is used in pacients with CA but the cost-benefit of this is to high.. the problem of ketokonazol as all the antifungal in tabs is that they destroy much more the liver and the kidneys als androcur. because they are so agresive with the body that the liver need to take this out. so at the end you will need very high dosis of ketokonazol and your balls and liver will be destroy.
