Exhibit Review: The Universe Within

Post by gelding (imported) »

www.theuniversewithin.org (http://www.theuniversewithin.org) is the link to the home site of this exhibit now running in San Francisco at the Nob Hill Masonic Center, 1111 California Street. It started there March 31st. It will run through the summer.

The exhibit used more than 200 bodies to create a realistic view inside the human body, with specimens preserved by the process of plastination where fluids in the body are replaced by plastics. The result is a stunningly realistic view inside the body, showing literally every organ intact and in place. Some of the specimens are partially dissected to reveal the relationship of tissues to one another.

There are complete arterial blood supply exhibits removed completely intact from bodies and other amazing demonstrations of the delicate preservation techniques used in the exhibit. One body is carefully sliced into sections to show the cross-section of every part of the body from feet to skull.

See the exhibit there in San Francisco or wait until it comes to a city near you and make a point of seeing it.

Some here may have an interest in plastination of their genitals. This exhibit shows the technique in actual use.
