In the beginning…. The Eunuch Archive was the brainchild of our illustrious founder, Bboy. He created it out of nothingness and hosted it on his home computer. Gradually it grew and the hosting was moved to BME (which, to this day, provides invaluable service to the Archive).

Eventually, Talula and a small coterie of others living near the Mother Ship climbed aboard to provide support. All along, Bboy alone, and then Bboy and Talula exclusively, have funded out of their own pockets everything that was needed to run the Archive. A few of us have tried to help by sticking a few bills into an envelope and mailing them off occasionally to help keep the ship afloat when storms loomed.

As Talula has recently posted, the Chat Room Server has finally died and needs replacement. (The brain transplant was not sufficient to save its life.) There will be other equipment and program needs that shouldn’t have to be funded out of Talula’s pocket.

Now is the time to make a donation to help support the Archive that provides so much support to so many people.

I wish to say thanks to each and every one of you who has donated to the Archive Chat Server fund. As of this morning we have enough in donations to get what we need to get the chat server up and running.

The new machine has been ordered and should be available for pickup this Tuesday or Wednesday. As soon as I get it home I will load the server up with all that it needs and by the weekend we should be chatting again (if not sooner).

Also I wish to say thanks to each of you that offered hardware or temporary facilities for the chat room. I am so happy to have had the offers but for the most part it would not have been practical however the gesture is greatly appreciated.

The last chat server really did not owe us anything having functioned so well. Bboy and I purchased it for $350.00 each, just for the chat, and it kept going and going and going...... "if only it had told me it wanted to suicide".

If anyone still cares to make a donation it will be saved for a rainy Archive day or for the yearly fees for the chat proxy address, the maintenance fee to vbulletin, etc. The best way to donate:

Yes, I spoke with River late last night and he is very achey but otherwise ok. The car he was driving is not feeling too well.

The chat server is here and loaded except for Count Blah which should happen later today. Some testing and I am hoping we will be up tonight or early tomorrow.

I'm ok, my head still hurts and is ringing a bit. Picture this, driving at 60 mph and getting rearended and being launched forward. Poor baby is off for repairs and I am on the mend.

Its saturday about 10 central time, I am about to head over to tal's to help him get the chat room up. This was something I was doing, sigh.

Sometimes you get the dog and sometimes he gets you.

I gave some $$ to the server fund. I would have contributed money to the EA much earlier had I known where to send my PayPal payment. Maybe we can have a page active year-round detailing where to send donations and listing those who donate (and want to be listed).
