Just another FYI -

Win 2k and XP work well on old PC's as slow as 400 mhz and more than 128 MB RAM.

For just a moment I thought slow, old, senile refered to me-then I put my glasses on and saw the word 'computers' --FLO--

It will even run on a P1 at 250 mhz with 64 meg of ram. XP is faster than win98, ME, NT, or Win2000.

Just try to play WingComander on an 250 mhz PI or AMD it's unplayable! I have and OLD dos game, you start the game the next srceen you set (in about 1-2 seconds) is the Game over screen, you have died three times already.

For safetys sake I run old windows on a newer platform...

One of the nice things about running windows 98 (yep, I put it on this pc when I got it last year) is that you are virtually untouchable by most viruses, hacks, worms and such, and yet you can run most all programs, if admitedly quirkily (I just know thats not a word, but it should be).

No problem even running quark 6 or photoshop 7. Also, with all the 'latest' (haha) patches, I honestly only reboot about every couple of days. Of course, I remain infinitly familiar with the blue screen of death.
