its bin a long time since i post a new tread.

but i told you all that i wilk keep you informed about my osteoporosis.

first a little history

43 years

11 months since castration

i take now hormones.

1 monht after castration ,first bone scan.

heavy osteoporosis .

but nothing to do with castration.diagnose; it runs in the family.

started medecation 6 months ago, calciium and fosomax.

last week , second bone scan

my osteo is under control now

lower back is improved by 6%

hips is status quo.

lets hope it goes up in the comming 6 monhts, i have then my next bonescan.

so to all eunuchs, take your calcium and all goes well.

As your post emphasizes, the causes of the disease are numerous. In addition to hormones - or lack thereof, they include genes (runs in your family?), exercise (lack thereof), diet, smoking, alcohol, etc.

I was castrated 5 years ago. I'm on HRT (testosterone). When I received a scan 2 years ago, my bone density was 110% of a 21 y.o. female, the standard used by docs. It's always good to have the scans if one possesses any of the risk factors, including lack of hormones. It can be remedied if it hasn't progressed too far.
