Androcur seems to be a lot more expensive than Spironolactone (at least that's what I see on sites like http://www.inhousedrugstore.com/).

Is it better in some way?

For castration purposes, Androcur is more effective and a stronger drug.

I know just how expensive Androcur is, I took it for a year starting with 100 mg per day and working up to 200 mg per day.

If memory serves I think it was about 3.50 per pill, pill is 50 mg.
