soft start - soft stop

Hi!

I have read that it is strongly recommended to start building up androcur doses step by step until desired effect is reached and stopping androcur treatment the same way.

Why is that needed? Can anybody explain? As after actual surgical castration testosterone levels drop very fast anyway. It is not possible castrate surgically gradually.

Can anybody tell out of his experience, what happens if you start to take high doses right from beginning and adjust to minimal levels later?

Erik.

Erik,I think you answered your own question. It's alway's easier on the bod to start and stop slowly. It helps your body to adjust. Many of the people who have been castrated have been on chemicals for a time and there bodies still have to adjust.Read all the post's and go easy my friend. What's worth doing is worth doing right.Hugs,Leona

How gradual would you say in starting and stopping? 1 tablet per day for 4 weeks, then 2 for 4 weeks, and so on? Meaning a time spell of 16 weeks to build up to 4 per day and another 16 to come down afterwards.

:) Well Harry,I can only tell you my own experience.A little over 3 years ago I started with a small dose: .625 of Premarin a day.After a week :2X .625 a day.Maybe a month,well I finished the .625 pills.Meanwhile I ordered 1.25 mg.

pills overlapped those, like 1 x1.25 and 1x .625 a day, when the .625s were gone then 2x1.25 mgs a day of which I still do.In addition after maybe 10 weeks ,I added 150 mls of Depo-provera.3 weeks later ,another shot3 wk.s another.Because of weekness with M.S.,I stopped for maybe 2 month's.Then started again, maybe 1.25 mg's a day for a week, then 2x1.25 a day and repeated the depo thing.Slowly breasts began to develope, not wanting to have something else start growing I've kept this up.If you take too much, you just pee it out with no benifit, little tough on kidney's. Every once in a while I would get some injectable estrogen which is easier on your bod. After maybe 3 weeks your breasts get very sore and sensitive, their developing. You can expect to develope 1to 2 cup sizes smaller than your mom.Your body will also start to pack on girl fat.You have to watch that or you will have a large belly with boobs.I'm skinny and had some of this to deal with so I can imagine for heavier people it would

be.If you want boobs, you might like to recognise them although some can't help it if your heavey to start. Also, the heavier you are the more hyper-tension plays in.We want to stay as healthy as possible. You pack on wieght the boobs get bigger.I dont know ,what ever.I also get my chemistry checked every 6 months. We do what we can, right.Keep an eye on your blood pressure.Oh ,by the way last winter I added An anti-androgen,

Aldactone. All the Best,Leona Lee ;) ;) ;)P.S. this is fairly mellow dose for pre-op Transgender women. After castration and or srs you need much less

and you may check other post's for that.LOL

My goal is to experience something similar as real surgical castration is, where testosterone supply is lost within one hour. I know, there is plenty of testosterone bound in tissue... and that will compensate testosterone source loss for some time. for a week or few weeks until castration effects become noticeable.

I want to mimic that process with drugs. I do not want to wait half a year just because. Is there any other medical reason not to take relatively high doses right at the beginning except possible toxicity that could affect liver function?

This toxicity usually becomes apparent if I stay on high doses for a long periods, which is unnecessary, as I will lower dosage as castration effects kick in.
