Hi All,I have had M.S. for 24 years.I am chemically castrated and I'm affraid to go to a permanent operation because of more weakness.Unfortainetly I have to cycle estrogen "Pemarin and Anti-Androgens".I still walk with cane.Although this medical problem is a little unpredictable.Anyone care to comment on this?New to board,Leona Lee

Thank you your feedback.Your Reputation preceeds you.A very caring person. How disabled are you?I was diagnosed in 1995.Boy,being disabled sure changes your outlook ,especially when it's pretty invisible.Mine is odvious now.My gait is not good.I never worked out or anything all my life.About 5 years ago I started 3 times a week.I havn't done anything at the gym for a year,I sometimes fall down,It's embarassing. But recently bought a home gym, works good, but I've stopped Estrogen.Bummer,I'll start again soon.Seems to be a fine line. All the Best,Leona Lee

Leona lee as with polio the same thing applyes with MS you dont want to over do things as you were used to doing.I made the choices i have made because i just never want to go back living the way i was .
I to am on disabilty for the past 7 years and no most people cant see that i ever had polio but it is starting to slow me down some.
Leona i wish i could give you the advice you are looking for but as we are all diffrent we all have to make the choices we feel will benefit us the most.I guess if i could say anything it would be dont do to much and take care of yourself
My very dear cousin has MS and she is in a wheel chair so i understand your concernes my friend so do take care.

Well,I've own'd my own auto repair business for 30 year's,run by yours truly,no empoyee's any more.Being self-employed I could draw the full amount.I have to admit,it's getting more difficult everyday.I need to do as you,my doctor will support me.I know I would be unemployable because of falling and such.Actully it's kind of comical, here I am trying to be normal and far from it.Still doing a good job "slowly" and my customer's are glad I'm still working. It really is a push though.Thank you for your feedback,I truly appreciate it.Hug's,Leona
