Steve,

They shouldn't. Hot flashes are the body's way of adjusting to a rapid hormone change. Most women have them during menopause. Castrated men have them and other men may have a short period of them during some point, but most do not get them.

So, don't let that concern you. There are many treatments for them.

Well , like A1 said everybody is different but most eunuchs who do not take hormones have them. my doctor said that it last a couple of years at least untill your body is used to work without male hormones. i have hotflashes every day, 10-20 times and thats no lie.but you get used to them. what you can do is stay out of the sun because then it is almost not tolerable.

i am now a eunuch for 6 months now, so i have a couple of years to go. hehehe. But again, everybody reacts different, so dont let that hold you back of becomming one.

Good luck to you.

Greetings marca

I have be on chemical castration meds for almost four years. Only in the past few months have hot and cold flashes lessened. They were only moderately bad the first year then became less intence. Normally I would get a clue they were about to happen and could rest and let it pass. All in all a minor inconvience. I am sure everyone is differrent though to some degree.

Good luck,

Don

If you ask me 'cold flashes' are way worse than hot ones!

It’s been almost 2 years since I was castrated and I still get hot flashes

Not as many as I did at first

They really don’t bother me that much any more

I have been castrated now for almost a year and was chemically castrated for over 2 1/2 years prior to the surgery. I've never had a hot flash at least as I imagine them during the daytime. But at times when sleeping I did get hot and sweaty and had to get out from under the blanket until I cooled down enough to need it again. I always had cold feet before and now my feet are always warm/hot. I am less adaptable to cooler temperatures and temperature changes now. I also get hot and sweaty easier when working. I suspect that the reason I never got hot flashes is that my chemical castration started slowly and gradually progressed so there was no sudden cut off of my testosterone. But it is very apparent to me that very low testosterone/estrogen does cause some problems with regulating the body temperature.

I did chemical castration for over a year, I had some real intense hot flashes, one was at work at the end of the day, several of my co-workers and I were chatting when it hit, I guess my face turned bright red I started sweating, they asked me if I was OK, I grabbed a file folder and started fanning myself and said, Damn, I think I just hit menopause because this is one hell of a hot flash. Everybody laughed and decided that could not be the answer, and nobody was the wiser.

I have had hot flashes on and off for about 8 years, today if i get one its just a warm glow and I no longer have night sweats.

Remember everybody is different and you will be too. Nobody can tell you what to expect so plan for the worst and enjoy the ride.

My degree of "hot flashes" are similar to those described by clysmaniac. Also, I get "cold flashes" occasionally at night. I don't consider either of them to be at all severe and they are tolerable.
