Depo-Provera vs. Provera

Post by bigwichita (imported) »

Can anyone give me any advice on Depo-Provera (the shot) vs. Provera also known as Cycrin (the pill)? What can one expect with Provera? Is one more inclined than the other to cause the enhancement of female features? Is either prone to permanent chemical castration w/ prolonged use?

Also too, any recomendations on pharmacies?

Thanks!

Depo-Provera appears to be the only one of the 2 that suppresses libido. It stays in the body for 4 weeks, where as the pills are metabolized in probably 8 hours.

I have used both Provera and Depo Provera (both under a doctors control).

I have a problem with hyper sexuality and had hoped to reduce libido with them.

My last effort was 150 MG/Month of depo provera and I was very disappointed with the results.

The pills did virtually nothing, the injection did reduce testestorne from 450 to 125. That was of some help, but I had hoped formore.

The nice thing about Provera or Depo Provera is that when you stop taking it, the effects go away.

I am trying to find something more effective and the only thing that seems viable is Luron (prostate cancer medication), but it is terribly expensive ($400 per month).

I am also trying to find information about the possible use of a new (yet to be approved) medication called Norelin. That has possibilities, but it seems to be 100% NOT reversable.

I do not know wher to go next.

There is also Androcur, you can get it anywhere but the USA, works great, I used it for a year before castration. It is a little pricey but what is it worth to you?

What should be the dosage for the oral Provera? I wanted to give that a try first, before moving up to the injectable.

I have read most people took 10 mg daily. But on www.looking-glass.greenend.org.uk (http://www.looking-glass.greenend.org.uk), they suggested 10 mg, twice daily. That is higher than anything I have read on the Internet.

Could someone share their experience on this drug? What doage? What effects?

Many thanks

🚬 Oral Provera, like all oral contraceptives, can cause liver problems, plus I have never known it to work.

If you want REAL results you really must use injectable Depo-Provera. Yes, I know, shots hurt & it might be a little embarassing to have someone stick a needle in your butt if you can't do it yourself but this is all better than a blown liver. It's cheaper, too.
