The beautiful fair-haired boy

Readers may know me as the creator of "Simon". I've a problem with a piece of imagery that just doesn't fit the series. A sort of medieval scene:
"They brought in a beautiful blond boy, nude apart from a rag of cloth twisted between his legs. His hands were bound behind him. There was terror in his eyes as he gazed round the room, and he gabbled some words that none could understand.
"The hooded man laughed savagely, and roughly tore off the boy's cloth. He motioned to two attendants, who lifted the boy on to a bench, where some irons stood heating in a brazier. While the attendants held the boy by his shoulders and ankles, the hooded man began to cut out his testicles, to make him a eunuch. His shrieks were fearful to hear".
Feel free to use this!
